How do you know this? Maybe we're just not the lucky message board he does this on.

Anyway, soccer dad, sorry to smear your boy Pierre. I offered an opinion based on a phone conversation I once had with him. Maybe I caught him on a bad day but you know what they say about first impressions, right?

A suggestion and a shameless ploy to extend this thread to 200 pages.

We all take a pick of who we think scores the game winner and what time. Whoever picks the right scorer and the closest time wins.

Shawn Horcoff, 12:37 left in the third.

    Have at it folks.

I agree - it would somehow be fitting if it went OT.

    Mr Dad,

I don't see breaking stuff during the lock-out (whatever was broken, who can freakin' remember) as a Lebrun coup. CP is the first outfit that the NHLPA and the league called during the lock-out--exactly like they did during the last lock-out. It wasn't like he got stuff through the Freedom of Information Act or through Deep Throat in a parking lot beside the Madison. Working hard on your career to one guy is self-promotion to another and its relationship to do with good work is at a tangent.

    YHS, etc

And pick a Conn Smythe winner.

    Edmonton: Chris Pronger

    Carolina: Cam Ward

    Bobby Orr, 0:40 of OT.

Seriously.....Ethan Moreau, 8:22 of the first period.

And Pisani and Pronger split the Conn Smythe Trophy.

    The story-book endings

Edmonton: Raffi Torres or Michael Peca in overtime. Torres for what he did to the Canes and Peca as a big F-U to Laviolette.
Carolina: Glen Wesley or either of the Adams in overtime. Wesley's sun is setting and for him to score the Cup-winner is perfect. The Adams don't get enough credit for thier energy play, and they need some props. Oh wait, there's also that damn Erik Cole stroy line. Cole scores three goals and the Canes win it it regualtion.

    However, my pick tonight is:
Pisani in overtime on an assist by Pronger, Ward finally snaps mentally and starts swinging at Ryan Smyth who was parked in front on a screen, think Roy-Dino except instead of a nut shot Ward goes for the skull.

    Con Smyth picks:

    Edmonton — Pisani, hands down
Carolina — It all depends on Game 7, if Ward is on, the trophy is all for him. If Ward lets in more than two goals and the Canes still win and Staal tallies a point, the sophomore meets the Smythe.
