And more often than not, they've been goalies.

Save for Reggie Leach in '76. (no pun intended)

Well, (edit mistake)Recchi Weight he of the 3rd degree separated shoulder may suit up tonight.

Ethan Moreau: "It's no secret his arm was in a sling yesterday. Everybody loves (Weight) in the room and he has meant a lot to a lot of guys in this room. He was a great leader here, a great competitor, a great person and it would be courageous if he plays, but if he does play, we're going to go after him just like we went after Cole."

Or as Oiler forward Michael Peca put it: "If you're going to play hurt, you're going to have a bulls-eye on your back."

Gee, is it any wonder why NHL teams regularly lie about injuries and do everything they can to hide them during the playoffs?

That's Weight, not Recchi, hon. Recchi is a tank and tough to hurt. Remember when he held the Iron Man streak?

I'm sorry, I knew that. I was daydreaming when I posted.

Then again I've never really understood the importance of the injury report, especially during playoff time onsidering it's all bunk anyways. Why do they have to say why he is out? when all that really matters is that he is out.

Interesting question. Do we have a right to know why someone is out? We often seem to act like we do and it's some egregious act for a coach to look at us and say 'upper-body injury.'

Don't NFL teams have to announce the exact nature of a player's injury if he's out?

    Pretty much, yes.

Yes but that's the NFL. Does it matter that it's the most successful pro league in North America? ;)
