Thanks, Beef. Hats off to the Oilers for making this a great, great series. A little closer than I care for, but that's all to Edmonton.

I hang my head in shame over that. :'(

And Sam, I really wish I could find some Canes gear up here. But no one in Kentucky cares about hockey.

I hear ya ... any websites - besides NHL.com, of course - have anything you can buy? The 'Canes website is informative, but only refers to The Eye, its souvenir store, for hours of operation (and maybe the fact that I think there's still an auxiliary location at one Raleigh mall).

Otherwise, I'd send you a couple of T-shirts. I have a few of those, but now need some more, including a couple of red ones. Wearing black in the summer heat isn't the smartest thing to do.  :-[

The only more Canadian moment in hockey was at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City when Jarome Iginla scored in the gold-medal game. The camera panned up to Gretzky in the pressbox. He jumped out of his seat, pumped his right fist into the air and yelled out, 'Fuckin' eh!'
It was beautiful. It still makes me misty.

Thanks, Sa- er, Ron Francis. The TRUE Whaler. (Either he or Kevin Dineen.) Thanks for the shout-out.

Edmonton had its chances. A pair of breakaways early in the second. A 5-on-3. On top of all that, they had to face a hot goalie. Plus, Chris Pronger seemed to play way too conservative on the point. I was watching the game with Cougarguy and I said, "He's playing in the game of his life and he won't shoot."

    Haha! I remember that, eh.

I just found a website with gear... carolinachamps.com

Just found a hat on that site for $17.95, or 4 bucks cheaper than Hibbett's has it listed for.

Agreed, it was a great game. Until Carolina scored it's third goal, that's exactly the kind of game you want to watch, and you want the season to come down to.

Nashville now needs to win the Stanley Cup next season to keep the trophy in the Southern loop. I wouldn't object to seeing it in the Grand Ole Opry.
