Did anyone else have a really bizarre interview with them? He asked me about my faith and whether or not I would work with convicts, and like everyone else it seemed like I had a great interview and that he would contact me and nothing every happened.

That's interesting that they would ask you about your faith/religion. That's really illegal.

Yup I had the exact same thing. They actually asked me what religion I practiced. I was absolutely stunned. And I'm quite sure there are laws about asking that in a job interview. Nice guys for sure, but man that really threw me for a loop. Major red flag.

It's not actually illegal to ask such questions in an interview. But if the interviewee does not get the position, the interviewer has opened up himself/herself (rather his/her company) for a discrimination lawsuit.

Just out of curiosity, for which states was the religion question posed?

I'm in Florida, and I agree Mark is a nice guy but it really did take me by surprise that any company/person would ask those type of questions during an interview.

Yeah it seems pretty consistent across the board that those types of questions were asked for everybody. If I wasn't in such a desperate situation at the time I would've walked out right then.

Not sure things are going as well as they'd like. From The Pipeline:

Everyone, as most of you know by now CoachesAid has had to enter into a restructuring phase as of yesterday afternoon which unfortunately means that we will scaling back about 35 state sites temporarily and laying off the Content Coordinators in those states for now.

This move puts CoachesAid on solid ground for the long term while we work out technical issues and create the revenue streams that we expected to have upon launching. We have been calling everyone personally since yesterday evening to inform them of their status going forward and will continue to do so. We hope to speak to everyone by this afternoon sometime.

Thanks for you patience as we try to get through to everyone.

A web venture promises to hire lots of journalists, but then doesn't have the revenue stream in place at startup?

    Unpossible!

  9. Anyone know which states survived?

On the west coast, only Washington survived cuts. Not sure about the other regions.

Given that they don't return calls (and likely make calls like this) very well, what are the odds these content coordinators are finding out about this for the first time on SportsJournalists.com?

  12. Unfortunately, and personally speaking, the odds are very good.
