I think he's pointing out that several of your threads have focused on minority issues like the black coaches, black caucus, "all Muslims are evil" thing. And it seemed like the point of this thread was that Obama was starting to get taken down by the media, and you found that amusing or a good thing.

Not saying he's right, but I can see how it could come off that way.

My only argument would be if the people - the one he is to be the representative of - braved the elements, did he?

    Nope. He had a heater.

He also had way more police protection than likely anyone else in the crowd. Doesn't mean it makes a bit of difference.

Well he is wrong . Chuck sees a tick in every woodpile like Bill Rhoden.

Nothing I wrote had any hint of race to it. Chuck made it about race.

I post things that I hope generate discussion and debate. Obviously this thread hit the mark based on how fast it took off.

I was looking for anything, Alley.

I supposed you could use the info about the heater for color in the piece. Or some clever, witty lead.

But I'm not sure it's a question I ask directly. Maybe if I saw it there or something I'd use the fact he one.

    A serious person.
    Forgive me but, no.
And Boom, Bill Rhoden is rarely idle.

But the average onlooker noticed the police protection. That's a given. The heater is not.

And no, it doesn't make any difference. Nothing does, to be honest. It's all bullshit. Everything. How about we just cut to that chase and save us all some time and posts?

    I mean, really. :-\

JD, I've got no beef with you at all, my brother. In fact, I like your posts. I just agreed with Obama on that one particular point. But when you posted Zeleney's article, it solved the debate and made it clear the question wasn't just shot out there like some of the insane queries given at the Super Bowl. In the context of the story, it seemed appropriate.

I gladly withdraw my previous objection to the question.

And I agree with Boom on his above post. I saw nothing racist in the thread itself, and certainly didn't think he was revelling in the media hitting on Obama a little.

I've got no beef with you either. I enjoyed dissecting the subject. My bitterness and nothing-matters-ness is about something else and was not directed at you.

Somehow I have a feeling that if a few posters were willing to admit their mistake then relations on this board would be much more pleasant. It hurt not one whit to admit my error.

Then here's another mistake: I didn't post the article. Someone else did. :p
