Still think Texas has never executed anyone who was innocent?

The problem remains that very few people are going to look at Carlos DeLuca, and his record, and declare him "innocent".

He may not have committed this crime, but most people are going to be fine with him being removed from society.

That might be sad, but it's true. It's going to take a Richard Kimble getting the needle for anyone to give a shit.

The actual answer is this - the actual number of "innocent" people executed is so small it is irrelevant and in now way worthy of the "crisis" label attached to it by some people around here.

In what way does a sentence of life without possibility of parole differ when saving the same innocent people?

Yet, similarly, you haven't called for the speed limit to be lowered. How many people are you ok with dying for you (well, not you, since you don't live here) to get to your destination 10 minutes earlier?

Wouldn't outlawing alcohol save lives? Outlawing cigarets would save lives.

Unless you can answer these questions, I don't think it's fair to expect folks to answer your similarly biased questions.

But in the case of OJ Simpson, they came to the correct conclusion based on the facts.

I think he did it, but I would have voted not guilty as well because there was enough reasonable doubt raised to come to that conclusion.

    Any doubt was completely unreasonable.

    *COMMENCE RANT*

Hey, deskslave, there's a big difference between eggs for an omelette and human lives and if you're so caught up in whatever you're caught up in that you can't see there's a difference (or even try to make the comparison), then maybe you need to check where your priorities are. Because I work in a job where I see how big a difference there is every single day, so I'm very well aware of the difference between eggs and a freakin' human life.
Also, you need to stop making assumptions and putting words in people's mouths. The people on this forum are writers or journalists for the most part, so they know how to say what they mean. If they say something, don't try to read into what they're saying. Take it at face value. If they mean something else, they'll probably say something else. Until then, stop assuming you know what people mean and are thinking.

Sorry if y'all were bothered by what I said, but he struck a nerve.

C'mon, I love it when a European pacifist lectures a member of the U.S. Military, who's spent time in a war zone, about the value of life.

You could learn a lot from him. Have some perspective. He's read reports!

He's still a human being who was killed for something he did not do.

I see, because God himself, otherwise known as RickStain, has made this declaration, it must be true.... ::)

A human being who should have been behind bars to begin with based on his biography but hey, he obviously had a lot of great social workers wetting beds for him along the way....

My apologies for not being intimately familiar with the biography of someone with 113 posts.

Fuck this. I'm done. This European pacifist has wasted enough time arguing with a bored coffee machine repairman.
