Still think Texas has never executed anyone who was innocent?

Predictable as ever, though I give you credit for avoiding the references I mentioned.

Do you ever get tired of being wrong all the time? I know I have asked you that question before, but you keep ducking it.

I read this thread from the beginning. I know that is the argument you are hiding behind. I'm reading more into your comments based on what I have read here and elsewhere. I'm sorry you don't like being held accountable for your posting history.

We all know it isn't just that he isn't a good poster child for this issue. You are not the least bit troubled by an innocent man being put to death because he did other bad things. Just own up to it for once.

Not what I said, but I'm not surprised to see that you got it wrong again. If you don't care about people's rights along the way, it may not be horrible, but it is childish and hypocritical coming from somebody who spends so much time whining about the government trampling on people's rights.

Give me a fucking break and get a God damn clue.

I have been very clear about the fact that people deserve a strong defense and also that juries need to be very sure before they find someone guilty.

I've also been very clear that that this case was a mistake, a flaw in the system but unlike you, I don't think one case in thousands represents a crisis.

I don't believe courts, police officers, prosecutors, magistrates - any of them - are above the law, beyond reproach and I believe they all should be held to a much higher standard of following the laws and the rules in terms of doing their jobs.

That being said, I have no issues at all with tough sentences for violent criminals, including death to those who don't deserve to live.

So get off your high horse and stop being, well, you, which, I know, you are incapable of being anyone else, but god would it be nice if you weren't so fucking thick all the time.

And it would be nice if you didn't need to hide behind insults and bluster to cover up the gaping flaws and overwhelming hypocrisy in so many of your posts, but that is just too much to hope for.

I didn't use the word crisis. You made that up. Something else you do quite a bit in trying to back up your arguments.

I said it doesn't bother you because the guy did other bad things. You talk about people who don't deserve to live. That sounds like revenge, and a judgement call, both of which should make somebody so distrustful of law and government uncomfortable.

One of the saner posts I've read about the OJ trial. As I tell my students, I'm pretty sure he did it but if I was on that jury I couldn't have convicted.

So the defense lawyer isn't sure, while the former prosecutor doesn't believe it.

Well, I'm convinced. Thank you for posting such a useful article.

Congratulations on being able to Google a West Wing quote in a lame attempt at an insult. Come on, "Doctor." Do better.
