Fav Larry Bird story from SI, one time he's walking into an arena (Mil?) and he hears some fan say something along the lines of "we're going to kill you tonight!" and Bird turns around and says "we? How many you scoring tonight?" Now that's trash talking.

You did a really bad job explaining that angle in your first post. I see what you're saying, but that wasn't the translation that was taken in the first post.

I understand that. My first translation isn't always what I was trying to say.

That lawyer article didn't really address what I would want a lawyer to answer; does he think Ben will be charged?

Once Ben is charged, he is screwed.

Your amazement may be genuine, but it's probably the last time football should enter into any discussion about Ben Roethlisberger's "decision making" on this thread. You're viewing the phrase "decision making" far too literally, as if reacting in a controlled athletic environment in a physical way is even remotely connected to the "decision making" that occurs in the synapses of the male brain at midnight in a bar after the 13th pina colada. If you're really interested in this kind of stuff, Devil, any basic psychology book can help you. Even a basic reading of the Id, Ego and Super Ego entry of wikipedia might help you sort out some of this.

Great, now it appears that the guy who took the initial report from the alleged victim was asking for photos with Big Ben just an hour earlier.

Yes, star struck officers is exactly who we want investigating! No problem there. Dude, you are on duty, everyone is supposed to be equal.

I'm not buying that for a second. Try catching a pass over the middle or tackling a man in the open field. Playing football is plenty hard.

Hell, if you get a chance, have an NFL qb throw you a good strong 20-yard pass. Just ask Stuart Scott how easy it is.

Is it me, or did like the allure of getting your pic with an athlete wear off after the age of like 15? I was never one into autographs, pictures or such. I would rather sit down with somebody and have an actual conversation. The star-struck attitude which these cops and others have shocks me.

And for all the bashing Bradshaw gets--yeah he maybe ADHD, have a mess of a personal life (even though that seems to be straightened out, no?) I say he is pretty savvy. Stays in the limelight, plays the rube, but is getting paid well after his playing days.

I guess I was unclear, I do not need to get my photo taken with an athlete, especially now as a late 40's male with two boys and a loving wife.
