Both were already under indictment, though, weren't they?

    Roethlisberger hasn't even been charged.

The shit stirrers seem so disorganized, I can't imagine calling them a "band."

That was quite an overreaction. And I have no band. I need my artistic frreedom.

That's what Leonard Little and Ray Lewis thought.

I am no legal scholar and shan't pretend to be one like the other Walter Mitties on this thread, but I would say 'Big Ben' has his hands full.

Embarrass somebody? It was a joke. Grow some skin.

Given Jones's history and the information known almost immediately, the comparison is a horrible one. Vick didn't have the same type of history, but his guilt was quite clear when Goodell acted. That is not the case here.

How noble of you to judge which crimes are more deplorable than another, and, you, what, being so detached.

Your Big Ben's sins, those of them known anyway, haven't even yet come to light. He has placed into action his pissant lawyer, who is probably already part of his larger retinue, to make all of this go away -- again. League also wants it to go away. You are naive if you think otherwise.

Work on your reading comprehension before your next rant. Not a single thing in my post was about judging the severity of what Roethlisberger is accused of.

What I pointed to was the fact that Pacman Jones had a more extensive history of off-field problems before the even that finally got him suspended by the league office and that Vick's guilt really wasn't in question when he was punished by the NFL.

If Roethlisberger is guilty, he deserves a severe punishment, by the law and the league. But the comparisons to Jones and Vick are a joke.

And spare me the questions about my bias. We have long since established that you are every bit as biased regarding the Steelers, though your bias is against them rather than in their favor.

What's pressing on the time frame for a meeting between Goodell and BR? The investigation hasn't been completed yet. When it is, there'll be plenty of time for BR to get his comeuppance (and yes, either way, some level of him getting smacked around is deserved).

Exactly. He probably should have done it, just for the sake of appearances, but the idea that the timing of when Goodell meets with Roethlisberger is important is pretty ridiculous. It reads like Hill wanted to write that Roethlisberger should have been punished already, then either she or an editor realized that she couldn't say that at this point.

If anybody but Jemeel Hill had suggested this, it would be well-received around here.

OoP, I have no bias, I have nothing to gain or to lose if a dipshit like Ben Roethlisberger runs afoul of the law.
