Precisely. The column glosses over this fact. It is the single most important portion of the racial double-standard question.
Let's recall a few things about Vick:
1) Like Big Ben, he had a brush with controversy or allegations of improper behavior before the dog-fighting thing. (Several, actually, in Vick's case.) None had resulted in convictions.
2) In the initial weeks of the dog-fighting investigation, Goodell did not meet with Vick. Only when criminal proceedings were imminent did he begin imposing league discipline.
Therefore, in withholding a meeting with Big Ben, Goodell is being consistent. He is resisting public demands to go after a player whose behavior has been questioned but not officially cited by the authorities.
And as for Pacman Jones? Please. He had been arrested multiple times before Goodell imposed any discipline.

That last part is either a blatant lie or a sad lack of self-awareness on your part. Your hatred of all things Steelers is well documented.

And this would have been a piece of crap no matter who wrote it. The comparisons she draws are very flawed. You would have noticed that (please see tapintoamerica's post for the explanation you seem to need), but again, that bias got in your way.

I can't believe I'm defending Jemele Hill's work.

What is so outlandish about this column? He has been accused of sexual assault on two coasts in a span of eight months. There is a clear pattern of misbehavior as there was with Jones and Vick.
