Absolutely. Redemption is only a game-winning drive away.

DA is holding news conference Monday to announce his decision on the case.

I'm guessing he's not holding it to say charges won't be filed.

I don't think the DA holding this Monday gives anyone a clue one way or the other.
In a high profile case such as this, he would, indeed, hold a press conference to say there are no charges filed, just as he would hold one to announce the charges.
Right now, no one has a clue, it is 50-50 and we will all just wait until Monday.

If they are going to charge him, why wait until Monday?

If they charge him, they suspect him of a crime, right? If that is the case, would not want the legal process to start as soon as possible?

Not trying to be a fanboi, but I am trying to understand the DA's thinking.

But then again, I would not alert to world to tell everyone after all this time that I did not have a case.

And keep an eye on flights from Pittsburgh to Atlanta to see if Big Ben is making arrangements to surrender himself.

Not unless they wanted a maximum number of cameras there for the press conference, which wouldn't interfere or go head-to-head with Tiger Woods at the Masters. Just playing devil's advocate.

Probably trying to finish all required paperwork.

Or maybe the DA is simply closing the door on the matter:

"Had they wanted to arrest Roethlisberger, they would've issued a warrant, not waited for a press conference on Monday," said B.J. Bernstein of Atlanta, one of the nation's most high-profile defense attorneys.

"If they had wanted to send this matter to a grand jury, which is a closed process, they would not have a public press conference to do that," Bernstein said. "Most likely, what we're seeing here is that the district attorney has chosen to drop the matter."

It just seems odd to announce that you believe a crime has been committed, you have enough evidence to go to trial but you are going to wait until over the weekend to do anything about it.

Is the DA up for re-election?
