Which is pretty much my point.

Oh, yeah, wasn't disagreeing with you. Just throwing in my observations about Clausen.

Dan Rooney was asked about Roethlisberger and whether the team still supported him. He gave a no comment-type answer.

    The Steelers win with defense.

    Big Ben sucks.

Hey, I would not take Clausen either, but maybe I have not watched OU enough, but I never saw Bradford make the canon arm throws Clausen does.

The question would be better asked of Art Rooney II.
People are making too much of this.
No way Dan Rooney is foolish enough to drag the Obama administration into this mess. He's an ambassador to Ireland, no longer in charge of the Steelers, and he's not going to embarrass his current bosses with any statement.
The Steelers currently support Roethlisberger insofar as they employ him and pay him handsomely.
When that status changes, if it changes, you will know they no longer support him.

Any team will listen to an offer for a superstar if the deal is so lopsided in their favor that they are forced to listen. If the Dodgers were willing to trade Kemp, Kershaw, Loney and two stud minor leaguers for A-Rod, the Yankees would take the deal. If it was Jeter instead of A-Rod, they would take it even faster.

If the Thunder packaged Green, Durant, Westbrook and Harden for Kobe, the Lakers would have to take the trade, or at least give it a very good listen.

Two top-10 #1s for Ben? The Steelers would have to listen.

Don't league commissioners have the power to veto a trade if they feel it's too lopsided? Or is that just in my fantasy leagues?

  9. I dunno, not for a star QB, in my opinion. Your examples are dealing with known professional commodities being traded for known professional commodities. When you start talking about getting rid of a professional player whom you know is in the top three at his position and will be for a few more years to come for someone who you THINK will be good, well, it's too much of a crapshoot. No one knows how good a QB is going to be out of college. Hell, I thought Ryan Leaf would be better than Manning. Look, if Ben forces their hand, ala Santonio Holmes, well then they don't have a choice. But I don't see him doing that.

Steelers will coordinate with the NFL to discipline Roethlisberger. It won't be announced until after the draft.
