This is a freakin' joke. If the nature of our business is to report on petty, stupid stories like this, I need to find something else to do for a living. ESPN spent way too much time on this crap.
And we wonder why athletes are scared to talk to us like actual human beings.

By the way, I saw no problem with how Strahan (or the reporter) handled it.

Seems we got one fact wrong: it wasn't a hot dog, it was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich according to several reports.

in the interest of accuracy, my sources tell me strahan was wolfing down a good, ol' peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich, not a hot dog.

and it sure seems like espn girl went to the stadium wednesday loaded with an agenda. ain't life grand?

which isn't to say strahan's not a dick and a fool for taking the bait. just that this is just another example of how this biz continues to spiral out of control. the he-said, she-said stuff must grow damn nauseating for the sports purists out there.

    Yikes.

    1) espn girl?
    2) Is it an 'agenda' to go after a specific story, based on something the guy actually said?

  7. Shockey has long been a sexist jerk.

And he has always attacked people who go after stories that he was too lazy to chase himself.

How could we be so far off on this fact. We really need to tighten things up if we want to keep our credibility.

Was it natural peanut butter? 7 grain bread? How do you eat a PBJ without a glass of milk to wash it down. He is lucky he did not get peanut butter stuck in his throat.

Shut the fuck up already. I was talking to shockey.

Also, about the PBJ, it seems someone should have been able to smell the peanut butter....it does not in any way resemble the smell of hot dogs.

Thank God no one had a peanut allergy.

I think it's a federal law now. You can't eat peanut butter just anywhere, what if Eli has a peanut allergy and doesn't even know it, and his head blows up like a giant cauliflower, you gotta believe Coughlin has some rules about that.

I think we need you to write an SportsJournalists.com statement of apology to the peanut-growing states for not properly crediting their product.
