Stupid mistakes/ER Visit

After my ice storm head injury, we finally got the bill: like $3,100, for ER visit, CAT scan, X-rays for hip/back pain, staples, couple of bottles of hardcore pain meds, etc.

One day after getting the bill, my wife says, "Hey, don't you have accident insurance that your work pays for that is in your plan?"

Looked into it and got a check for about $1,300 that came in pretty handy.

November. Wake up, everything’s fine. Play with dog, getting ready to start the day. First, have trouble focusing my eyes. Then, having trouble controlling my arms as I reach for my phone. Dizzy and slurred speech. Call 911 and they take me to local hospital, and off to the major stroke hospital an hour later. A week in the hospital, two MRIs, a few CAT scans, a “small occlusion” we’re still not sure whether it was a clot or just a narrowed blood vessel, and I’m released with very little lasting effects. Lucky. Still — scared (hell, SCARES) the shit outta me. I already have MS, so I’ve come to accept physical limitations. But… damn. Fuuuuuuuuuuuu…
