I was fascinated to see if Utah still had its "private club membership" rule in place, but it appears most restaurants do have beer, wine and liquor available. Apparently there is such a thing as a "Zion Curtain," which I really want to experience.

Because Mormons are forbidden to drink coffee and tea as well, I would assume Starbucks probably doesn't do great there, either.

    This from a website.

    Is Provo a dry city?
Provo, home of Brigham Young University, does not enjoy adult beverages quite as much. Over 90 percent of Provo’s population is made up of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormons), and Mormons don’t drink.

    Is alcohol expensive in Utah?
The price of alcohol in Utah is regulated. Yes, it’s definitely more expensive than neighboring states Utah’s markup for liquor is 88 percent; 66.5 percent for liquor-store beer.

I'm amazed Utah has craft breweries.

FWIW, Starbucks by our hotel is packed. And the locals seem to enjoy stopping there for pastries. And the 825 State Stout is very good.

Quick review: Great craft beers. Horrible high winds in the canyon where our event was held - I’m talking steady 20 mph, gusting to 50. There was a national Mennonite convention in the conference center attached to our hotel - which meant I was somewhat self conscious when I walked through the lobby two-fisting beers while wearing shorts. Bridal Veil Falls is fantastic. So is Park City. 10/10, would visit again.
