So say we. So say we all.
Finally saw the trailer for G.I. Joe, looks like a bunch of little Iron Men flying around in battle suits. *shrug*
I'm getting pretty amped up for Star Trek. The more I read, the more I see, the more it looks like Abrams got it right.

Never been a big Star Trek fan, but this is a movie I want to see this summer. It looks damn good.

G.I. Joe looks bad. I'm not sure if I mentioned it earlier here, but I doubt it will be nearly as good as the animated G.I. Joe: Resolute film that was on Adult Swim a couple of weeks ago.

I just looked up the theatrical trailer online. Those battlesuits are ridiculous. It is possible to make a decent live-action G.I. Joe movie. It just doesn't like like this one will be it.

My favorite part of the old cartoon was the fact that both sides would shoot red and blue laser beams back and forth, but no one would ever get hit. The lasers would be flying all over the screen but darn it, those Joes would never get shot.

Hugh Jackman should have been in Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.. he's the right age, right presence..

I will be beating down the doors to see Trek the day it opens.. I have a very small window to see it Friday and I will use it... Will see Harry Potter... little ID and I are waiting anxiously for Up... Am interested in some of the others, but will probably see most of them on DVD.. the trailer to GI Joe looks good, don't know about the movie. Wanted to see Wolverine, but it is getting horrible reviews.

Don't get me wrong, I loves me some Hugh Jackman, but he's too young (and frankly, I think, too good-looking) to play Robert Langdon, who is described in the books as being "Harrison Ford in Harris Tweed". The irony, of course, being that Harrison Ford himself is too old for the part! (plus there's that whole Indiana Jones thing) A lot of people ragged on casting Tom Hanks, but at the time, I'm not sure there was a better option available.

Getting back to this summer's movies, I just saw the TV teasers for The Hangover, which looks like it could be pretty good.

Well, this ain't exactly your action flick but I'll go see any movie with Meryl Streep:

    Julie & Julia

About a young woman (I remember her blog) who decided to cook a different recipe every day from Julia Chlld's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking".

Stern had Jackman on a few days ago, and it was a great interview (as usual with Stern), but I think this guy has some serious Mommy issues to work out.

Have you seen a recent picture of his wife?

And? So because he married an older woman he has mommy issues? Are you an idiot or just playing one on the internets?

Wow. This is me staying very far away from that one.

Just got in from seeing Wolverine. I was pleasantly surprised. Even Mrs. OOP liked it, though I think the shots of Hugh Jackman naked appealed to her more than anything else.

It's not perfect. They depiction of Cyclops's powers are erratic and incorrect. The beams are not supposed to generate heat, for one thing. I know, a nitpicky thing only a fan of the comics would notice, but it bugged me.

The part borrowed from the Origin miniseries was well done. I liked the depiction of Gambit. Ryan Reynolds really was good as Wade Wilson. I liked almost everything they did with Sabertooth, but the way he moved just looked silly. Also, how the heck do they explain that character turning into Sabertooth from the first X-Men movies?

Parts of the ending were way too convenient. I won't even hint at what because I don't want to give too much away. Maybe it was just the low expectations, but I liked it better than I expected to.

I hate the idea of showing different secret endings with different showings. I want to see the Deadpool one, dammit! The one I found on Youtube sucks.
