    But many people, probably men in particular, were so incredulous that she had been cast in the lead for "Sex in the City" that they (erroneously?) concluded attractiveness had something to do or was supposed to have something to do with her selection.

    I once heard Julia Roberts described as "not quite beautiful and not quite ugly." May be fitting for Parker, too.

    I think there was a brief period where most people thought Roberts was hot.

    Sarah Jessica Parker is an example of someone who may be attractive, but women think she's a lot better looking than guys do.
