I can't believe I was an idiot and forgot about Sir Paul or that I went with Price is Right over Jeopardy or that I second-guessed myself and went with The Wizard instead of my first inclination - the Scarecrow.

CP - I haven't posted much lately but I wanted to take a minute to thank you for all you do to make this game possible. First time I've played and I'm enjoying it. Even if I do stink.

I don't obsess over it like some seem to do. I have a "committee" of helpers - my son and his fiancee. We take about five minutes each week and fire away (I blame all my one-point answers on them). They're getting into it, they asked me last night how the week went. It is a nice distraction from the chores of the week and I look forward to taking part in future games. That you take the time to put it together is really nice.

If I'm ever as much as a minute late, please toss my answers straight into the shitcan where they belong. Of all people who should understand deadlines, it is those on this board.

Please. Obsess is not the correct word.

I echo the praise for Ms. Pot.

A few seasons ago, she was flexible with the deadline, then took a lot of crap for being hardcore in the final week.

We usually have four days to get answers in. Other than an occasional question about where a player may land, answers aren't likely to be affected by waiting.

Even that potentially incorrectly assumes that most people will wait.

It's hard to blow a four-day deadline. But we do it.

Re: SUMMER SHEEP Official Thread (Wk 6 questions, page 24)

The only thing that sucks about ruling so many people out is that it reduces the total possible points and makes it more difficult to make up ground.

I certainly understand Copperpot's stance on the issue and fully support it, but it seems like this is just a flaw in the game. As people miss weeks for whatever reason or if they quit when they fall out of contention, each week becomes progressively less valuable.

    — This week had 32 people play. The first week had 44. That's 120 points we didn't have a chance to earn.

    — A perfect week this week earned a player 210. My perfect score in week 4 got me 229.

    — The top score in week one was 245, and 210 would have placed you 16th.

Again, not trying to pile on Copper here. Not sure if there's a solution or if this is just the way the game works.

There's not. Songbird had 34 posts on this board over Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Missing the deadline is his fault.
