The 17-0 Dolphins are ranked 13th.

    REAL home-cooking.

85 Bears played the Buccaneers twice, the Colts (5-11) and the Falcons (4-12).

That being said, I still think this was a great idea for a list and credit the research.

They played seven regular-season games against playoff teams, including three against the teams that lost in the conference championship games (Ravens twice and the Eagles once). Among playoff teams, they also played the Titans, Giants, Colts and Chargers during the regular season. The only AFC Playoff team they didn't play this year was the Dolphins, but they did beat the 11-5 Patriots team that missed the post-season.

The combined record of the Steelers' opponents this season was 133-120-2.

Yes, the Steelers got to play the Browns and Bengals twice, but the rest of their schedule was brutal.

    Simon, hell of a list.

Do you add weight to the quality of the team they beat or lost to in the Super Bowl?

I was thinking more in terms of "Simon clearly needs a hobby." :D

I just thought it was interesting. That, and I don't think the '82 Dolphins were as good as the '08 Steelers. The '84 Dolphins? That I can see.

By the way, I will echo the others and say it is very good work on that list. I think it could be weighted a bit differently, but it is still good stuff.

2mcm may have a point, though.

Of the Steelers' 19 games this season, only five games were against teams with losing records. (Browns 2, Bengals 2, Jags)

Simon is good with a spread sheet, I think.

    No.

Teams in the Super Bowl can play, no matter how outmatched an SB may be.

The two with the poorest pre-Super Bowl credentialing (1979 Rams and 2008 Cardinals) have led in the fourth quarter of their Super Bowls.

Unfortunately.... I may have much more time to devote to this site sooner than later.

I very much have a life.... as of now.

That doesn't sound good. Best of luck holding on to those elements of your life that may be in jeopardy, Simon.
