Mike Tomlin said he expects Ward to play, though I can't imagine him saying otherwise.

I had forgotten about Roethlisberger's issues with Whisenhunt. Not exactly his most mature moment. I like the way Whisenhunt handled it at the time, too.

Ward rehabbing through the night for a chance to play.

Which is the kind of forced schedule that usually leads to a career-ending injury.

Hard to have a career ending leg injury anymore. Especially when you are a hulking, plodding WR as opposed to a speedster.

It would take a McCallum/Edwards type injury to end a career.

Yes that was probably over-stating it, I should have used the phrase "significantly worse injury."

That's probably true if there is ligament damage.

For Ed Hochuli fans like me who hoped he would draw Super Bowl XLIII duties, no dice. The NFL's going with Terry McAulay, whose crew missed the play clock violation against the Ravens at Tennessee a couple weeks ago.

McAulay has worked one other Super Bowl, when the Patriots beat the Eagles.

The NFL, seeking every dime possible from fans, will sell a Trophy Towel following the Super Bowl.

What, the script's already been approved?

    Myron Cope wept.

So it's a towel with a couple of logos on it?

I don't think Cope's towel is in any danger of losing sales.

LenDale White will buy one because something happened to his Terrible Towel and he lost the "This Is Our House" towel the Titans handed out -- before something happened in their house.
