I don't give a shit about what everyone thinks about him.

Here is what I do know.

    1. He made a back pedaling tackle at Indy.
    2. He hit Santonio in the back of the end zone.

Those two plays give Pittsburgh numbers five and six.

And if you think they would have those two silver trophies without him, then tell me why they never won one with Kent, the big kid from Michigan State, Neil, Kordell, Mike T or Tommy M.

Had the info come out via Steelers doctors, then the team would have been accused of playing up an injury, making Ben appear more heroic. Doesn't matter how the news of the rib injury (which we already suspected before the game) came about, anyone who doesn't like Roethlisberger or the Steelers would roll their eyes and claim him to be a diva regardless.

Even as he shrugged off the injury and didn't claim it to be any big deal. It's not like he said he played the game in great pain and gutted it out -- he said he played pain-free.

So he had nothing to do with driving them 88 yards on that final series?

By the way I'm a Seahwk fan who hates the Steelersbut it's ridiculous to suggest that he played no part in this Super Bowl win.

Actually, Peter King put it out there (see the link I posted earlier). Most of his column was about Roethlisberger, so perhaps King simply asked while working on it. It's not like there wasn't already talk about his ribs before now.

As I said in response to Simon, there are biases on both sides of this discussion. One side has actual medical results. The other has conspiraciy theories.

Now I think you're just trying to jerk people's chains. They absolutely won in spite of Roethlisberger in Super Bowl XL, but that just wasn't the case this time around. Check the statistics again. He completed 21 of 30 passes for 256 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The interception was tipped at the line. Not much he can do about that. This was also with the Steelers gaining only 58 yards rushing.

Then why didn't any of the other gimps they trotted behind center from 1993-2005 ever win a Super Bowl and only sniffed at one?

In five seasons, Roethlisberger has won two, lost to NE (who may have cheated) in the AFC Championship, made the playoffs and missed the playoffs by one game.

So in five seasons, he has tripled or quadrupled the output of the past 12 years.

They would have won in spite of a QB, Kordell or Touchdown Tommy would have rings.

I'll probably catch heck for this one, but why the hell not. I catch fanboy shit on here when I deserve it and when I don't anyway.

Comparison of two quarterbacks through their first five NFL seasons.

    Quarterback A: 54.5 completion %, 14,508 yards, 85 TD, 77 Int., 6.7 yards per attempt.

    Quarterback B: 62.4 completion %, 14,974 yards, 101 TD, 69 Int, 7/9 yards per attempt.

Both played with the same rules, meaning their entire careers came after the rule changes in 1978. I think you can guess who quarterback B is, so add two Super Bowl victories two his resume. Quarterback A had not won any after five seasons.

    Trent does not have two.

FWIW, I think 15-1 was the year they played NE twice.

So if Roethlisberger is as good as Dilfer, the Steelers should win another 4-5 Super Bowls?

    I guess time will tell.

We have one no comment from the team. That's it. Nothing else new. Tomlin's comment was from before the game.

    Oversell it much?
