I joke around, but Junkie really is just trying to tweak the Steelers fans. I doubt he even bothers with any point that disagrees with him unless he sees a way to shred it. Still, the debate is entertaining.

I think I was the first one on this thread to criticize Harrison and Holmes for some of their on-field behavior in the Super Bowl. I thought Harrison should have been ejected and I hated all the posturing Holmes did.

They are both great players, but sometimes I really don't like rooting for them.

I didn't think Blitz was even a Steelers fan, but I could be wrong.

    I could use several beers.

proudpittsburgher, didn't you hear? It's all me keeping the thread alive time and again. Really. ;D

I'm over it. Rather argue about the '90s Oilers at this point.

In the 20 years between Bradshaw and Roethlisberger, the Steelers have trotted out 11 different starting QBs.

Roethlisberger is the only one to win a Super Bowl, and he has done it twice. The Steelers would be batshit crazy to even entertain at thought about replacing him.

The same is true with New England and Brady.

Funny, you talk about surrounding casts, but you ignore the fact that Pennington had a much better running game and better pass protection than Roetlisberger this season.

So, which is it? Do supporting casts matter or not? Or is it they only matter when it serves your argument?

Also, you focus on just this season and ignore last year, when Pennington played his way out of New York in between injuries while Roethlisberger threw for 3,154 yards and 32 touchdowns with only 11 interceptions.

The truth is Elway's numbers after five seasons aren't even close to Roethlisberger's. It ain't all supporting cast, and the offensive supporting cast in Pittsburgh isn't nearly as good as you are trying to make it out to be. The offensive line has been a mess for two years, Parker was dinged up most of this season and Ward has been Pittsburgh's only consistent receiver during Roethlisberger's career.

You keep insisting that the Steelers win despite Roethlisberger, yet he carried their offense more often than not during the two Super Bowl runs. Look it up. Outside of Parker's long touchdown in Super Bowl XL, Pittsburgh had no running game in the '05-'06 playoffs.

This year, Willie Parker had a monster game against San Diego in the Divisional round, but he had only 100 total yards rushing combined in the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl. That came on 43 carries for an average of 2.3 per rush. That is two games out of seven in which the Steelers did a decent job running the ball during the two Super Bowl runs.

I'm still waiting for you to point out even one strong performance by Pennington in a playoff game.

By the way, O'Donnell had been gone from Pittsburgh for eight years when the Steelers picked Roethlisberger. He also left as a free agent because the Jets overpaid. So the Steelers really didn't draft Roethlisberger because O'Donnell "sucked."

I have posted it before and it bears repeating. You are every bit as biased against the Steelers as any fan of the team is for them.

Roethlisberger didn't have to go up against the dynastic Cowboys in the Super Bowl. Or go up against teams led by Kelly and Montana in the playoffs. Neil O'Donnell was a turd, but he didn't always have it easy while he was there.
