    Water on the knee?

Ok, I'm even going to boo myself for the bad attempt to play on the weather that day. :)

If this board was around circa 1995 we would never hear the bloody end of Kordell from you people. Who's kidding who.

As Slash, he was a devastating weapon.

As an every down QB? No way.

An NFL QB cannot miss the open receiver (insert joke) 20-25% of the time. Enron as more accurate.

Another false assumption. I never liked him. He was ridiculously overrated as a rookie, well down the list of reasons that team made it to the Super Bowl. Excellent athlete. Useful in certain situations, but nothing special.

LJB, he cost Pittsburgh at least one, maybe two, Super Bowl appearances.

That and all the stiffs they tried to play WR before Hines Ward came along.

So whose fault is it then for putting his ass in the lineup at QB when he clearly sucked? Or does Cowher get no blame for this, either?

On one of those Top 10 shows, somebody said Stewart would have been a legitimate star if he played only at receiver. He made plenty of money off being "Slash." Good on him, I guess.

Cowher definitely gets some blame for that. I know plenty of people in Pittsburgh had a hard time understanding why Stewart got as many chances as he did.

Stewart had talent. He was a great athlete and he had a strong arm. Unfortunately, he had no feel for the pocket at all and limited accuracy. He looked like he might be decent in '97, but stunk it up in the AFC Championship that year and regressed from then on.

Yes, Cowher's faith in Kordell the QB almost cost him winning a Super Bowl. Stewart hurt his knee in his third or fourth season, and when he stopped being the fastest player on the field, he sucked at everything.

Kordell would have been a very good receiver. Pro Bowl? Doubt it.
