I thought of most of those scenarios the day of the championship games. The Cardinals are a very tough matchup for the Steelers.

    The 79 Rams, ugh.
The 82 Dolphins, strike year, ugly

That '79 Rams team had the Steelers on the ropes. NFL Network replayed that one last night. The Steelers were trailing, Swann was hurt and done for the game and they had a third-and-long when Bradshaw hit Stallworth for a 73-yard touchdown pass.

I know Stallworth only caught three balls in that game, but he still should have been the MVP for the touchdown and the 45-yarder he caught in the fourth quarter. And because Bradshaw threw three interceptions.

    Rams couldn't close the deal.

True, but there were a bunch of Hall of Famers that wouldn't let them. Stallworth made two incredible catches. Bradshaw's throw on the 73-yard touchdown was amazing. Lambert did a great job getting deep enough to intercept a Ferragamo pass with the Rams threatening.

It really is cool to see these things as they unfolded rather than just a highlight package.

The Rams would have sent some better team than 9-7 in the '70s if they didn't have to deal with the Vikings and Cowboys for so much of that time.

I am starting to think Mike Tomlin's not prepared for this game like he should be. Sounds like he's too concerned with outside things.

Tomlin is meticulous. I'm not worried about that. If they lose, it'll be because they didn't rough up Warner. Not because of a family picnic at the walkthrough.

And the Rams are still, by almost any measure, the worst Super Bowl team ever.

A benchmark of fail you can bookmark.

I loved seeing this two weeks ago, before the Ravens, so here is it again ...

... As for the game, I can't wait. Nervous as heck, but can't wait. I would love to believe that that defense-winning-Super Bowls trend would continue with the Steelers here, but I've heard way too many talking heads the past two weeks picking the Cardinals.

And to echo what's already been said, I've loved the NFL Network rebroadcasting those games in full this. I've seen the 30-minute shows, but never the full broadcast of the game. Love seeing the old graphics and how the games unfolded. Do they do that during the offseason, too? If not, they really should.

Yes, but they don't show a lot of stuff from the '70s or '80s.

If something is to be called a classic, let it age a few years for Christ's sake.
