I'm willing to bet that 50 years from now the number of spousal murders will be much higher percentage in the gay community than in the straight.

When you define who and what you are by who you *"relationship"* with, you have a much bigger stake in the person you choose as a spouse conforming to your ways.

    * - might be the first time relationship has ever been used as a verb. As Calvin once said, "I like to verb words." Heck, this who thing is an issue because words no longer mean what they once did. Hobbes' final thought sure seems applicable to today's America.

Then it's a casual relationship of convenience. Not "marriage."

I hope you understand I am trying to point out how hypocritical the anti gay marriage crowd is with not giving two shits about divorce.

So you're saying the guy in Texas can ignore a ruling just because he doesn't like it?
No point in having a court then, I guess.

CNN, I know CNN, was interviewing The Donald about his stance against gay marriage and how he and his comb over were in support of "traditional marriage."

CNN's Jake Tapper, asked him what was so traditional about Trump's three marriages.

He had to (or will have to) pay a shit-pile of money to get out of them without dying. Sounds pretty damn traditional to me.

No one has yet answered my serious question, which is how, other than good faith on the part of the litigants and affected parties, Supreme Court decisions are enforced. The executive branch isn't a party here, as I understand it, so it's not like the President necessarily has to get involved. So who (or how) adds force to to decision? Is it the lower courts whose rulings were overturned/upheld?

Since then, you've yet to pick up on the fact that, rightly or wrongly, some Supreme Court decisions have been ignored. By the President, no less! Like, for instance, Andrew Jackson! My made-up quote was a paraphrase of Jackson's comments re: Worcester v. Georgia.

So you're saying that the Texas AG is perfectly within his rights to say until the state legislature passes a bill legalizing it and the governor signs it into law, same-sex marriage is still illegal in Texas?
