survivor - heroes vs. villains

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by txsportsscribe, Jan 4, 2010.

  1. He can not be the greatest player ever for 2 reasons.
    1. He never won. (Granted he should have but still)
    2. He is not great in challenges.
Greatest strategist? yes, greatest player? no.

Yeah, see, I don't know about this. I think the only way he gets to the Final Three is to do just what he said he would do. Take the five-person alliance to the end and follow it up by taking Coach/Jerri to the Final Three. I doubt he'll play it like that but I'd say that's his best move.

I will never count Russell out until his torch is extinguished. That guy is incredible.

I can't believe the Villains chose to keep Russell over Rob.

And I don't think Russell had that much to do with it. Jerri just couldn't make up her mind, didn't know what to do, and she did the wrong thing.

This group had a chance to pull off one of the biggest blindsides ever, and didn't do it. I think they'll regret it.

And now, they not only have lost their best player in terms of keeping the team together and running well, but they've also cast off their best team leader and most valuable player in challenges -- and made it so that the most intelligent, thoughtful player on the show this season will not even be on the jury to hold any sway or to help make a good decision at the end, which Russell won't make, anyway.

    Really dumb.

Still think Yul Kwon played the greatest strategy game ever.

And watch as they just keep replacing Idols, Russell keeps getting them, keeps saving himself. Same thing as Samoa all over.

I assume there's another one in play at their camp and he hasn't found that yet.

I agree. Looked him up recently because I was wondering why he never came back for any all-star stuff and, as you might suspect, it's because he's busy conquering the world. He's currently Deputy Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau for the Federal Communications Commission.

Russell is a hell of a player. But just like last time he won't win because he'll have pissed off the majority of the jury who won't be able to look beyond their bruised egos long enough to appreciate how he, as did the original master Richard Hatch, excelled at playing the game.

How many former winners are still there? If one of them win, I'd say the first two-time Survivor winner would be the best there was, literally speaking. You can't deny the money. But playing the game and winning the game are two different disciplines.

I think it's going to be one of the women that aren't getting a hell of a lot of camera time, namely Courtney and Sandra. I hate, I absolutely hate the years where that's happened. Leaches that fly under the radar. It's a terrible way to play.

Then that fact makes him not the best to me. The best players are the ones who dick over the jury and still persuade them to give a vote. That's the name of the game - not win at all costs.

I wonder how much Russell's game plan would have changed if the Samoa season had aired prior to his going out for All-Stars.

You've got to think he's playing the same game he played in Samoa because A.) He thinks he's on the verge of winning the million there anyway and B.) He got to the final tribal in Samoa playing that way.

It's probably why he's taking Pavrati with him. He knows people hate her and at the final tribal, he can say "She REALLY wouldn't be here without me".

If he knew he lost in Samoa because of burning the jury, would his approach have changed? Guess we'll have to wait until the reunion show.

Rob's arrogance did him in. He should have agreed to vote out Courtney to keep the tribe strong, although I suppose Russell could have still blind-sided him.

It was a smart move. They got rid of the best player.
