No offense, but given Russell's massive ego and personal wealth, why not do it?

I wonder why they don't bring Terry the fighter pilot from that season with Aras back. Man I loved that guy. He was the best player that season but had a seriously shitty tribe and entered the merge WAY down in numbers. He was the one and only target from merged Day 1 until the decision to go to the final 2. That was the only immunity challenge he lost and he was quickly gone.

I think I mention Terry about three times a season on here. He's still definitely one of my top three or four players ever.

I'm still not buying he's a millionaire businessman. You don't see many successful business owners ditching their companies for 80-plus days in a short time.

I'd rather be rich than famous, but I think you have a lot of these rich guys who want to be recognized.

If I remember correctly, Russell did say he had several failed businesses before the oil company finally took off. I think he's an attention whore more than anything else.

He also might have just said that to try to get votes from the jury.

I can't remember for sure but I thought he might have said it on the reunion show.

I haven't watched Survivor in about five years, but I was actually kind of disappointed Jonny Fairplay didn't make the cut for this one. We live in the same town, and another SportsJournalists.com-er and I have hung out with him a few times. While he's still somewhat obnoxious at times, most of it is just a ploy for the cameras.

He was on the last All-Star show they did, Fans vs. Favorites. About the second day on the island he started crying and complaining about missing his family and his kid (I think) and asked to be voted out by his tribe. Jeff was visibly upset on the air because I think there was already bad blood between the two of them and despite that the show had gone pretty far out of its way to get him on for a second time. Then, after all that, he flaked out after two days.

So, I don't think we'll be seeing any more Johnny Fairplay.

    Here's the Fairplay deal.

The season he was on was right before all-stars and Rupert and Fairplay were both supposed to go to all-stars. Rupert said he wouldn't do it if Fairplay went, so Survivor pulled Fairplay at the last minute.

When he pulled the crap he did in the fans vs. favorites was his revenge, but he's burned the Survivor bridge.
