I would love to know what they tell the jury members before they come out. They must do something behind the scenes to get them all colossally pissed off. Usually, each season there's one or two people who have a legitimate gripe and you expect them to bitch one of the finalists out.

See, to me, there are no legit gripes. You got voted off for one reason or another. No matter the reason, it was part of the game, whether it was injury, blindside, numbers, whatever. The bitterness level is usually off the charts. That annoys me.

I think, this season, Danielle and to a much lesser extent, Jerri had reasons to gripe. Stunningly, Jerri seemed to take it well.

The rest of them should have just come out and said, "Congrats on getting this far, tell me why you deserve this more than the other two..."

How did they have legit gripes? Danielle lost it mentally. Jerri was lied to. Both of those are part of the game and both happen quite frequently. I don't want to hear about legit gripes. None have any.

Exactly. It amazes me to no end that people still don't realize that the object of the game. It's not to make friends, lying is part of the game. This is not real life, it's a GAME. to take anything personally out there is ridiculous.

Which is why Russell looked so dumb last night. He still doesn't get it. Sure, you played a great game to get to the finals. But you didn't play a great game -- or even close to it -- to win. And that's kind of the point -- to win.

    Let me get this straight:

Parvati didn't win because she was aligned with Russell
Russell didn't win because he's Russell
Sandra won because she made it known that she didn't like Russell.

That, my friends, is a player with impact.

We also have to remember that we watch what they want us to watch. Tons of important stuff is edited out, I'm sure, due to time and all that. But yeah, Shaggy, that about sums it up.

Ok so Russell plays and incomplete game by not understanding the social aspect of the game.

Sandra plays an incomplete game by being useless in challenges.

    Parvarti plays both angles.

Parvarti should have won the game.

I have to say, there's some merit to Russell's assertion that it's messed up that someone can win the whole game twice without ever winning a single challenge.

And did anyone else catch that Russell knew during All-Stars that he had not won his season?

two players totally flipped for me. i went into this season hating jerri from her past performances but actually liked her at the end. she went from bitch to someone i'd like to hang out with. and rupert became such a douche by mid-season that i wanted him gone long ago. it was ok for him to scheme (even with russell at one time) but that speech at final tribal council (and the one in camp a couple of weeks ago) made for some sanctimonious piles of crap. what a pious prick.

I wonder if Russell would have won either season if in front of the jury, he simply said, "Look it's a game and I did what I thought I had to do to win, and if I did anything to offend anyone, I apologize."

I love that he didn't do that. But, I think it cost him winning at least once.

He's not the biggest villain in the history of the show. That's Fairplay, who I think was meaner and more vindictive than Russell ever was, but Russell is by far, the best villain in the history of the show and I'll be stunned if he's not on Survivor again within the next two years.
