Bush is like those PR people you agree to do something with once and next thing you know, they're fishing around your pants for loose change and the belief that you gave them a blank check to do what they wanted.

Well why not? Your impotent Congress can't lead.

Go back to Bush 2000 GOP Convention:
    "You won't lead. We will."

And coincidentally, the Toronto Star reports that the number of Americans immigrating to Canada is the highest in 30 years.

In terms of our total immigration it's a drop in the bucket and the reasons vary. The only significant constant is that they all tend to be well educated with reasonably good jobs.

For 34-year-old labour organizer Tom Kertes, the move last April from Seattle, Wash., to Toronto was based on human rights.

"The words `human rights' are foreign words in the U.S.,'' Kertes said.

"They only apply to other countries.''

He moved to Toronto with his partner Ron Braun and the two plan to marry, something they could not do in Washington state.

    Glenn Greenwald:

Historians and psychologists alike will have a field day analyzing how someone as ridiculous and pathetic as George W. Bush could not only command the adoration and obedience of millions, but the total, uneccessary capitulation of his political opposition.

Glad to know "human rights" only apply to "other countries." How do North Korea, China, et al, strike ya, Ronnie?

I guess that's why people are running across the border from Mexico to seek a life here. They just hate having their "rights" taken away.

I wish we could be more like the Islamic Republic of Iran where I'm certain the lines for getting in are long.

  7. A lack of apologies seems to result in setting the bar rather low.

Nothing like speaking to the point.

I'll log out so that the Al-Queda guerrillas can come on back out.

How ironic it is that the liberals are applying the strategy of the people fighting our soldiers in Iraq.

  10. OK, apologize.

The point fails to speak back.

The clocks and the toys define your world, and your playroom.

Unfortunately, I've had to get used to the fact that nearly all of the sportswriters whose work I most enjoy are foaming at the mouth, BusHitler, tin-foil hatted leftists who assume that everyone who is intellegent enough to read them must agree (can someone else point out that Bonds' crimes didn't murder thousands in Iraq? That would be original & clever.). It is still annoying, but it doesn't bother me much anymore.
