    These deaths are caused by the influenza virus leading to dehydration and pneumonia, which is the most common organ failure that leads to death.

    This really is a semantics issue, since all deaths ultimately occur because of cardiopulmonary arrest. people die when they stop breathing and their heart stops beating (we'll leave brain death alone at this point). This does not mean that all deaths are due to heart or lung disease.

    First "unconfirmed" case in my state, a good 285 miles away from Casa De Omar.

    Let's see, four and a half hour drive... so, by that math, the people who populate my Chicken Little municipality should be panicking by ... I wanna say Friday?

    Apparently four kids "probably" have it. But still, that is a lot of kids missing a lot of time for only one confirmed case.

    Swine flu kicked in with all the pork coming out of Washington.
