Don't know if I'm way behind the times, but I found this site that I spent way too much time on at work today: http://www.mapmyrun.com.

I recently went from 3 to 4 miles for my runs and now I know exactly where my 1, 2 and 3 mile markers are. People in the area post their favorite routes. Cool!

I've been slacking. My sessions with my trainer ended (just couldn't do $90 a week to do a workout I can do on my own), and I've been on the road more. I'm eating worse and working out less.

And I can't seem to start back on the right path. How do you get past the doldrums?

Find a cyberworkout buddy for support, encouragement and the occassional good swift kick. I'm available, in part because I'm in the same boat.

Sorry I didn't scroll through pages and pages of google images to satisfy your aesthetic sense.

Jesus. Tone it down. I didn't say it was a bad thing.

    What's your damage?

What do you mean by 'eating worse'?

I'm not getting my five servings of fruits and veggies a day. I'm not getting my dairy. I've let Pepsi slip in occasionally. And on road trips, I find myself eating things that aren't good for me: a burger, or fried food. I still eat some sandwiches, and try to make sure I get shrimp or chicken when I can...but I feel like I'm not as into it as I was at the beginning, when I was doing special shopping.

No damage. Was just apologizing for the gay Nike image.

For a while, I had two take-out places, both vegetarian and both fairly healthy (one Japanese and one that specializes in different kinds of rice) that I used to eat 95 percent of my meals from. Now I pretty much cook everything I eat myself. It's really hard when you are working a lot of hours, but I am really creative about preparing stuff in advance that i can just stick in the fridge and then heat up quickly. I stir fry veggies and rice noodle when I have the time. Occasionally, I'll take the easy way--pasta with some steamed broccoli if I get home late and I am really crunched for time. I have a whole bunch of things I make in a slow-cooker, including the chile I've posted about that I make every weekend. It's just a matter of chopping up stuff, setting it in and letting it cook for 8 to 10 hours. I do an zucchini and tomato thing in the slow cooker, too. Somewhere during the weekend, I cook a ton of brown rice, and also stick it in the fridge. And cutting up veggies and putting them in a steamer, even if I get home late, doesn't take too much time. I am a brussel sprout fiend.

It's a pain and it takes effort, especially when it is just yourself. And I tend to eat just one meal a day, with maybe an apple or some pretzels as a snack during the day if I have anything, so I am not like most people who will need to eat something at work. But I have definitely found that when I cook for myself, I am in way more control and I can eat ridiculously healthy. My diet is pretty much saturated-fat free, without any meat and 98 percent dairy free. I could never do that without cooking most of what I eat myself.

Yeah, Ragu, that makes sense. My problem is that a.) I can't cook (I've ruined hot dogs before) and b.) I'm EXCEEDINGLY picky when it comes to food. And the things that taste good to me aren't healthy. Veggies are not good to me, especially not cooked ones. I like carrots...and corn (that can be cooked). That may be it. I don't under any circumstances eat onions.

It's my main battle. That, and my laziness which keeps me from planning ahead.
