OK, so I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in about three weeks. Ouch. I only did one cycle of abs, because it hurt too much. But at least I went back, and did my legs and arms. I did a little cardio at my apartment's work out room while waiting for my laundry.

I went grocery shopping after the gym. Bought some bananas, apples, strawberries, carrots, turkey, fat-free cheese, "light" chips to snack on and a 100-calorie snack pack with chocolate pieces. I made myself a fried egg sandwich last night with Whitewheat bread, fat-free Parkay spray, egg beaters and fat-free cheese. I think it's like 2 points on WW. Wheee!

    Wish me luck.

Edit: Just did the math. It's 1 point. I'm about to make myself two grilled cheese sandwiches (2 points) and a banana (2 points) and a glass of milk (2 points) for breakfast.

I was at the gym this morning, with music blasting in my ears, and I was doing weighted crunches. The last set, I was really struggling and I guess I was making loud grunting noises, which I know I do, except since I had music blasting in my ears, I was oblivious. I looked up and saw one of the trainers, who looks like La Femme Nikita (my scary ideal of a female) laughing at me. It killed my week.

I also weighed myself this morning. I pretty much have taken off the weight (close to 10 pounds) I had put on when I was knocked out and was still carrying as recently as a few weeks ago. I don't know why it suddenly just decided to melt off, but it has.

In retrospect, the grilled cheese was a very bad idea. Apparently, fat is what makes cheese taste good.

No more fat-free cheese without something else to add taste or texture.

I did an entire hour on the stationary bike for the first time last night.

More importantly, I didn't realize how crappy I felt until I started dropping weight, getting in shape and feeling good again.

Don't ever want to go back to where I was ...

Don't late scary woman laughing at you kill your week, Ragu. If she can do her last set of crunches without the grunts, she's not doing enough sets.

The thing is, I kind of want "scary woman" to use me as a medicine ball. So the sight of her laughing at me was crushing. I'm insecure beyond belief and easily crushed by some women. I think I was being really loud and didn't realize it. By the way, whatever exercise regimen she is on is working well. Her stomach looks a hell of a lot better than mine does. It's the bleached hair and dragon tattoo that would scare off most men (but not me!), not her body or her face. I'm intimidated by her for other reasons.

No need to post here other than to pat myself on the back, sooooo...

I'm cleaning and packing for a move across town in a couple weeks. Came across a dress I wore for my college graduation (nine years ago). I haven't worn it in probably that long. It fits again, without clinging.

I'm off to the gym. :)

Atta girl, IJAG! I'm going to start again this week. I've even bought myself an MP3 player so that I'll be encouraged to walk home from work every day (if winter ever decides to release it's icy grip!).

Good for you, girlfriend! Keep at it!

Thanks, HC! I should have walked to work some, since it's less than a mile, but I also get off at midnight and walking home alone at midnight was not high on my list of things to do.

    Enjoy your MP3 player!

Go low fat with everything, never fat free. Some fat is good for you. Stay away from the trans fats, of course, and too much saturated fat. But that fat free stuff tastes bloody awful.

    IJAG,

Here's an idea: Could you walk to work and then get a ride home afterwards from one of your co-workers?
