Since nobody answered my question, I'll assume I'm still a wimp.

    Todays workout:

    Bent-over dumb bell rows: 12x55, 10x55, 8x75, 6x85, 5x95, 4x95
    Straight-leg DB deadlift: 10x55, 10x55, 10x55, 8x75, 8x75, 6x75
    Hammer curls: 5x55 (too heavy), 8x45, 8x45, 8x45
    Barbell curls: 10x75, 8x75, 8x65
Chasing daughter, who was chasing a basketball, which was rolling toward the road: 1 set
Pushing Dora tricycle one block: 1 set
Erecting teepee for kids' fine dining of bologna and cheese with Ruffles: 1 set

Now I get to go interview some kids about the rigors of high school practices.

Today, after a six-day break and my left elbow still being fucked up, "Nicole": Run a quarter-mile, do max-rep pullups without dropping off the bar, as many rounds as you can in 20 minutes.

My rounds went: 1:47-11; 1:46-8; 1:41-4; 1:41-6; 1:36-5; 1:34-3(!, fuck); 1:36. So that's about 10:40 in running the 1 3/4 miles and 37 lousy goddamn pullups. Still fighting the effects of a sinus infection, I thought I was gonna puke.

    Joe

And I_T, quit being so damn funny. You're getting strong in a hurry, dude. Great job.

After having ignored this type of training for more than three months, I went for a run this morning. Just five miles.

My quads hurt more after this little run than they did after 206 miles of pushing on the bike.

joe, I've had some elbow soreness. It went away. I think mine was from the weights. Most likely, I was jerking around too much. No jokes. I hope your elbow improves. I thought of you yesterday as 20 ROTC kids filed past me to try their luck at pullups on an apparatus that is left outdoors.

Consider it done. I'll update you each time I go up 50 pounds. You let me know when I've made it.

By the way, I'm reading for stretching exercises. Yoga? Something else? I seem to be losing a little flexibility, and it bothers me.

    I did box squats yesterday: 45x8, 135x5, 225 x5, 235x5, 240x5

Squats are the one thing I haven't subscribed to yet.

Today, with trap bar deadlifts, I did 305 five times. I was planning on doing 3 reps, but after the third I felt like I had two more in me, so I did them.

Slowly been upping the squat weight, got up to 175 today. Taking it slowly since I've never done them before.

Can't seem to gain more weight. I've tried just about everything. Any suggestions?

Maybe back off for a week or two, using a lighter weight and build back up or change your set and rep scheme.

Oops, maybe I didn't make my post clear enough. I can't increase my body weight and my mass. I've tried weight gainers and such, but nothing is kicking me off the schnide.
