I'm just back from a two-week vacation. Headed to the gym tomorrow and am curious to see what two weeks off will have done to my body, both in what I can lift, how sore I get and what my weight is now.

Anyone have any experience with such a long break?

Quoting my own post -- how pathetic.

Anyway, it wasn't that bad today. Now who knows, it may suck tomorrow morning when I can't move my arms, but I really didn't lose any strength and I actually lost a few pounds, which was shocking given how much I drank at that all-inclusive. Just thought I'd share.

Took almost two weeks off earlier this month, but I squeezed in about four days at the gym over the course of it. I was surprised how sore I was when I got back into my full routine. You'll certainly feel it, but it shouldn't be that bad.

I've had to take almost 2 months off from running and any lower-body workouts because of an injury. I'm technically cleared to go next week. I can't wait for the sore part ... it will mean I'm actually doing something productive. Although I've gotten stronger upper body because I'll I've been able to do are chest/back/shoulders exercises.

Went to the Local U's pool for the first time in forever yesterday to train for my triathlon. Had a pretty good swim, went 2100 meters total. Swimming against the current in the local river has helped my stamina and strength.

In other news, I've lost some weight while training (which isn't bad I guess). I'm at 173.8 now, used to be 178.

I've started getting back on the bicycle in the first time in a couple of years. I did a moderate 20 mile ride on Friday. Nothing too extreme, but it was definitely worth it.

This week I started using Fitday.com to keep track of what I eat. It's been helpful so far.

I gave that site a shot, and I really liked it. I just didn't have the discipline to do it every day. Certainly helpful, though, if you can stick with it.

I really need to work on my flexibility so I've started doing Pilates classes and this other thing that's kind of a cross between aerobics and yoga - I actually vomited after tonight's class. I swear to God I've worked out at a higher heart rate in the past and had no problem, but after the aerobiYoga - I puked.

Every now and then a friend prints this thread, just in case. Not a bad idea. You never know when it could get wiped out in the next blackout. Too much valuable info here.

84 miles, 6,006 vertical feet, six water bottles in about five hours on Saturday in 95-100 degree temps.

I weighed myself at 191 the night before the ride and was 185.6 when I got home.

That's some serious sweatin' and calorie burnin'
