Lugz, just walk, fast....you'll last longer and get a better workout.

Walking a little is the one thing I've been able to do... all walking does is make me hungry. I'm one of those people who needs to break a sweat in order to achieve appetite suppression.

Not that kind of walking...ladies stopping at starbucks for double latte to take with on the walk, with little fanny packs for the cell phone and kleenex....

I mean WALKING....a good hard power walk can be harder than a run. Much sweating to be had.

OK. I will try that when I give out after 10 mins. of running... but I hope I don't look like those race-walkers. :p

Isn't that the point? They look pretty thin to me.

Ohhhh ... you mean you don't want to look like one of them during the walk?? :p

After more than a month of little to no activity for myself, I'm getting back into the training mode myself. My gf has been doing it of late with her mom, who has dropped 40 pounds since the spring. It's back to lifting with more cardio in between. Some days I ride my back the four and a half miles to the gym, lift, and then ride the four and a half miles back.

Sometimes though either my legs are tired or I'm just too tired to ride. Then I'll drive and hit the elliptical machine before I lift for a few, and then again after I'm done for a harder cardio fix. I just feel good going back there 3-4 days a week though.

And I could stand to lose a good 10-15 pounds or so. Were it not for a few extra inches (still in the 30's, and I'm a big dude in general) around the belly, I'd look as good as any NFL QB, even Terry Haute.

I feel ya, Luggie. I don't feel like I'm accomplishing shit until a major sweat is underway. I'd just run myself back into shape. You'll catch on pretty quickly. I know 21 is on with the walking stuff but it just doesn't do anything for me. So I run, play full-court basketball and run stairs now.

That plan has me 113 pounds lighter.

    Good luck!

I'm not on a weight loss plan, but my wife is.

The day before she had No. 4 she was heavier than she'd ever been and not happy about it.

After the baby, she weighed herself and gave herself two weeks to recover before she started to work out and try to get back her Uma Thurman body to match her Uma Thurman face (hey, I think she's hot. Uma's pretty fine, too).

Without giving before, current and goal weights, she's dropped 36 pounds from the prego weight and 18 lbs from the post-partem weight. Goal is to lose 8-10 lbs and she'll be at her marriage weight.

If it matters to anyone out there. She goes to the gym twice a week for those 30 minute cycle workouts and walks a 1.5-mile loop up and down the mountain we live on twice a week. She's also logged on to weight watchers and I'm her chef, meaning I get to decide what she eats and if she's not losing it, it's MY fault.

Considering most women in that part of Idaho look like they should be tested for mad cow disease, I'd say your wife is probably fine. ;) ;D

    That's why I didn't marry a local girl.
