For the second time, I fell off the squats and shoulder press routine. So I said to hell with it and started the 100-day thrusters 10 days ago. To make it a better workout, I added a 100-day pushup challenge to it. I hope my elbow holds up.

My gym is eliminating classes and trainers as of Dec. 1. Any questions I should ask as I search for a (potential) new personal trainer, or even just a steady group workout?

So far, the elbow is fine.

Weighed in today at 185.8, down 12.4 from where I started many weeks ago and 15 away from my goal weight. Beer and not enough cardio are still my stumbling blocks.

So walk to a liquor store which is farther away from your house. :)

Shit, why didn't I think of that?

After 25 consecutive days, I'm taking Saturday off. Pushups have gotten easier, relatively speaking, but the thrusters are harder, mainly because I want to do them all without putting the bar on the ground. So I'll do 15 or 16, rack the bar on my breastbone/shoulders for a few seconds, then continue.

I've been a little hit and miss lately, but yesterday was day 36. Two sets to get the thrusters (21-15) and two sets to get the pushups (30-6).

On the pushups, 30, 31, 32 seems to be the most I can do without stopping; by the time I'm done with the 100 days, I hope to be able to do 45 to 50 without stopping; my long-ago young self could do 60, but I'll likely not see those days again.

Thrusters are getting marginally easier, so 21 wasn't too bad last night.

This week, I bench-pressed more than my bodyweight for the first time since the early 90's, when I weighed a lot less than I do now.
    It was 240 weighing 235.
My best ever is 255, but I weighed 270 then.

I'm new to this thread, but a nice warm spell in my neck of the woods has allowed for nice rides on my cross bike. I've put on some weight since October which was the end of my race season on my mountain bike. I don't go to the gym, but ride my bike inside my apartment on most nights for a base or try to get outside. This will be my first year road racing in the Cat 5 and the guys in Denver are fast.

Note: I currently weigh around 160 with my lowest at 148'ish during my peak in the summer. I was around 190 about a year and a half ago.

I love hearing/reading about everyone taking care of themselves.

Just hit 40 and DAMN... I can't burn those carbs like I used to.

It's like I'm fading at a PFM-like speed. I should just retire from tight jeans and slim fit dress shirts and shift to "classic fit" (ie Fat Guy Shirts) and sweats.

    Damn... back to running tomorrow.

Slim fit clothes look terrible on men no matter how in shape you are.
Do not dig and look forward to the end of this trend.

Not true. I'm 5'5, 145. If I don't wear slim fit, I look like a little kid in his dad's clothes. Slim fit is not the same as skinny jeans. It's just a cut that doesn't billow out on a thin person.

    Swimming >>>>>> running.

    That is all.
