Maybe if they had worked out together....

Nah, you're definitely not the only one. My girlfriend doesn't like to work out either. She's blessed with good genes though.
Honestly, I wouldn't really be into working out with her either. I'd feel like I have to keep her entertained and/or I'd be distracted by her presence. I like to be focused on what I'm doing so I can get in and out and have a good workout.

I've heard of bicycles built for two, but I suspect this is not the same concept. :D

    No, you're not.
My wife doesn't want to work out with me when other people are present. Drives me crazy.

    A couple of things:

    1) The kids are pretty small, I doubt as if they see a lot of Crow-Armstrong publicity unless somebody points it out to them.

    2) So, you're saying that a divorced person with small children has no right to continue with a personal life? And does it really matter all that much if he's in public with somebody who's famous or not famous since he's famous himself?

Note: Just a friendly disagreement, and no, I have no intention of getting into a running debate that somehow derails one of our most popular and venerable threads.

So I've been getting into a popcorn kick of late. Not microwave popcorn, I pop my own shit... about half the size of a bag of microwave stuff right out of an air popper. Then instead of throwing big globs of margerine and salt on there, I use spray butter. The stuff says 0 calories and it tastes just like the real stuff. Anyone else use the stuff I'm talking about?

I'd join ya, but I've been doing more mental workouts of late. And agreeing to serve on outside-of-work committees cut in to the little time I had for workouts.

And, honestly, if all you have to lose is 10 pounds, then you're probably in fine shape anyway. Most people want to get themselves too thin, IMO.

The problem is making sure you're maintaining your current weight. It's very easy to go from a perceived 10 pounds overweight to 30 or 40 pounds over.

Since this is now the LiveSTRONG thread, just fyi: when we last discussed the yellow bands, I had ordered twenty from the Lance Armstrong Foundation site (linked from Nike) two weeks ago, they arrived today. So if you're still looking for them, check it out.

I agree. And I picked up this 10 from a doctor-ordered inactive phase... But if I let it go, it could get out of control.

By the way, I'm stuck on 2 lbs. lost. I have been working out twice a day, so maybe I've gained some muscle? ??

    ???

I started yoga last night... first time ever... DAMN! THAT SHIT'S HARD!!!

This is why i rarely weigh myself....the scale is worthless if you're lifting weights.

Muscle weighs more than fat, and it also holds water. You will gain, not lose, at first. The scale tells you you weight, but it has no idea how the weight is distributed---and all weight is not equal.

I go by the way my clothes feel, and what I see in the mirror.

Thanks, 21, I feel better. My clothes do feel looser... But weighing myself is something I've done everyday since I was 14 years old. It's helped keep me from getting out of control. I don't know how I could ever stop.

Okay, weigh yourself but don't worry about it.

One more thing: Your body does not want to lose weight.....as soon as we start to restrict calories or burn more than we intake, the body's instant reaction is to panic, as if you might be starving or sick. So it actually tries to hold onto excess fat, and you may actually gain slightly before losing.

BUT THEN: the body realizes it's just fine, and allows you to get rid of the excess.

The point: slow results in the beginning are just your body's way of taking care of you. Stay with it, and you can convince it otherwise.
