"This was my first spring marathon, and it’s the opposite - 20s and 30s all winter, and suddenly you are running in the low to mid-60s. Throw in the hills, and it’s tough to get ready for."

Something I have subscribed to since I read "Self-Made Olympian": Preparing for heat with extra layering. I ran an hour-plus today (low 60s for temperature) in nylon wind-breaking pants, long-sleeve T-shirt and short-sleeve T-shirt on top of that. Easily could have survived in shorts and singled. When we start getting real heat, I should be acclimated.

Winter running is also bizarre because your face is cold. Your feet are cold. Your ears are cold. Your hands get cold, even with gloves on. And then you start to take your layers off, and cold sweat pours out of your sleeves like a literal faucet. It's so strange.

Another 6 days in the book. I've added lifting and reduced cardio. It's a nice change and much more balanced.

This week: 415 minutes (150 minutes of weights), 3,446 calories (not including weights; hard to gauge), 19.86 miles (cardio).

    Last 12 weeks: 4,129 minutes, 98,203 calories, 337.72 miles.

I did something bad to my groin over the last few days.

I can barely walk this morning.

Stretch for a half-hour and see what it does.

Tried stretching and walking it off a little. The more I do, the less it hurts, unless I move to the right or sit up. Or my son does a cannonball into my lap like he did 10 minutes ago.

Groin injuries suck. If you didn't feel a gross "snapping" sensation, like a piano wire breaking, it's probably a pull or a strain. You want it to heal fully before you do anything heavy with it. If you snap it, you are fucked for a year. Speaking from experience.

    Ice.

And as tf says it might be a strain or a pull or a tear - or it also might be a hernia.

Let us know how you're doing.

Ah, right. Didn't even think of that. Was thinking groin, as in the band. Not groin, as in the, um, groin.

    Thanks fellas.

I didn’t hear or feel a snap, but I’m still hobbling today.

I was on my feet a good part of the weekend and didn’t have too many problems. But anything more than walking still hurts.

My whole leg just feels weak, too. It’s annoying.
