Nahh. In two hours it's pretty mild considering it was indoors and the bikes there really don't give a true feel for a climb. Going 20-25 MPH indoors, even with the resitance cranked up fairly well, isn't too tough. Doing that outside where the road is a lot heavier is a challenge. When the weather turns nice, I'll be logging some nasty mountain rides trying to train for some of the local races.

Until then, I'll log weekly 2-hour indoor rides and try to average 20-23 MPH unless the instructor is a climbing geek and kills us with some muscle-building work. In fact, if I can wake up in time tomorrow, I've got another 8:30-10:30 spin class on the to-do list. Edit: I woke up in time, but only because Uma was running into the hospital to deliver a baby. I might go hit a treadmill later to try and compensate.

I'll put on some serious road miles in late Feb -- a supposed casual 100-miler in Zions National Park, woohoo! -- and then the local race calendar starts up in March with weekly crits. I just registered with the USCF and will be a Cat5 racer for a few months and then move up to Cat4 or Masters 35.

You'll kick my butt in running, though. I hate it so I'll not do it much.

But I plan on doing a 30-minute swim once a week just to get used to the water and prepare for the St. George triathlon in May.

Oh, I can deal with the eating-habit change. I just can't deal with the cooking.

Will you come cook for me, Xan? Pleeeeeease? If not, the odds of me dying from kitchen fire are great...

    Meals today
Late breakfast: handful of blueberries, banana, apple, grapefruit 3 clementines, handful of walnuts, bagel with cream cheese and lox.
Early dinner: leftover chicken breast, handful of walnuts, grapefruit, clementine, then a hot chocolate at the rink.

Might have some kind of snack now.

Keep up the good eating, SportsJournalists.commers for transformational betterment!

Edit: ate handful of walnuts, handful of shrimp dipped in cocktail sauce and a few pickle wedges. It was tough because I wanted to gorge on something unhealthy. Discipline is bitch some days.

I'd love me some challah now. Haven't had a good challah in years.
