  1. Actually, I heard that all the time growing up.

Nope. Highly for them. I want government-run, rationed health care paid for by taxes on the rich.

    It's true.

  4. As far as the original topic, I don't think it really matters whether or not you personally side with the teacher's views. The teacher has to know that posting that viewpoint on a social media site is opening himself up for a firestorm. Facebook is anything but private, and the fact is that free speech doesn't really matter to most people as much as the Constitution says it should. I don't like that a bit, but it is the world we live in today. As we gain more tools to express our thoughts, it becomes more limited as to what those thoughts can be without people attacking you for them. Really kind of a sad situation.

  5. I never said it wasn't.

Welcome, Rick. Park your sandals in the corner. Moonbeam is baking some organic tofu.

Shit like this is a microcosm of why this country's in the dumps, 14 pages on an issue that has no direct impact on this teacher or any of us. Really, I want a way that gay marriage will impact my life if legalized? Stock market gonna' tank? Job market going to get even shittier? Will it cause cancer? No, no and no. yet crap that really matters people look at, shrug and say, "eh, whayagonnado?"

I apologize for not cheering wildly for the Newt Gingrich health care plan, a middle-class tax increase paid directly to corporate insurance companies, regardless of which President passed it.

Honestly, when you look at what's actually going to go into law under his term, I think you can make a case for Obama being the most conservative president of the last 30 years.

Very little, if any, of this conversation has been about gay marriage.
