    Headline writers vote "No!"

(assuming anyone is still around to write headlines when these terms are accepted)

The (Burger) King rappels down a building and races away on a motorcycle, in a Super Bowl spot filmed about a month ago in Sherman Oaks.

He wasn't wearing an eye-black Bible verse, though.

MSNBC is going with the whole, "abortion was illegal in the Philippines" at the time argument. Says that the story might not be true.

Of course the person they interviewed for the segment and who is considering, "filing an FCC complaint" is fame-whore Gloria Allred.

I don't know the whole story, but Gloria came off as unhinged -- like a right wing "birther".

Get some evidence Gloria & come back to us.

Actually, since it's the Tebows putting this heartwarming story out there, the burden of proof should be on them to some extent. The doctor who allegedly advised Mrs. Tebow to have the abortion might still be out there. Let's hear from him.

  7. Couldn't the recommendation have been implied? Like, "Hey, I'm not telling you what to do, but if you have this kid, you could die, the kid could die, or he could be permanently handicapped. Looking at your paperwork, you're from the United States. Hop, skip and a jump, huh? Be back there in no time if you had to be for, say, a medical emergency of some sort. Again, I'm not saying, I'm just saying."

Of course the story is not true. Only a fool would think it is. Why? Too perfect. It's BS. Now, are they "lying"? I don't think so. I think they've convinced themselves that Tim is some sort of demigod at the very least. Has no one ever read a biography of Joseph Smith? Same type thing here.

  9. Nah, they're just sanding around the edges to make it fit the parable they want to tell better. Remember Bobby Jindal's State of the Union response story about how the big bad government got in the way during Katrina?

I mentally bailed on that speech when Jindal began regaling us with his memories of walking through the grocery store with his Paw in Mayberry when he was a kid. His tone made Laura Bush sound like Darth Vader. But yes, I seem to remember something about him lying about being at Central Command during Katrina.

Now, Tebow will be a fine 6-term Congressman from his conservative district in the state. His career trajectory is already set. That is unless he starts a new religion that really takes off.

    Here's that link on Jindal.

    http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/02/jindal_admits_katrina_story_was_false.php

Jindal had described being in the office of Sheriff Harry Lee "during Katrina," and hearing him yelling into the phone at a government bureaucrat who was refusing to let him send volunteer boats out to rescue stranded storm victims, because they didn't have the necessary permits. Jindal said he told Lee, "that's ridiculous," prompting Lee to tell the bureaucrat that the rescue effort would go ahead and he or she could arrest both Lee and Jindal.

But now, a Jindal spokeswoman has admitted to Politico that in reality, Jindal overheard Lee talking about the episode to someone else by phone "days later." The spokeswoman said she thought Lee, who died in 2007, was being interviewed about the incident at the time.

This is no minor difference. Jindal's presence in Lee's office during the crisis itself was a key element of the story's intended appeal, putting him at the center of the action during the maelstrom. Just as important, Jindal implied that his support for the sheriff helped ensure the rescue went ahead. But it turns out Jindal wasn't there at the key moment, and played no role in making the rescue happen.

Your evidence that it isn't true? This story has been out there since he was in high school. Why can't it be true? Do you mean every family story is open for question, and proof must be provided. "Little Johnny was walking and talking at the age of 10 months ... " Okay, let's see the video of his first step and his first word.

Me thinks a lot more people would be offended at an ad for Mancrunch, just as they were about Janet's down and out than they would a story about a mom's decision regarding her child. You're sitting in a Super Bowl party with kids of all ages. Which scenes do you honestly think would make more people squirm? Again, understanding that the Super Bowl is considered family viewing more than an adult show.
