Be careful. He's a new father on, in all probability, very little sleep. They are the second most dangerous people in the world.

The most dangerous, of course, is a new mother on very little sleep.

That's on Curry. He had 50-odd scholarship offers and could have gone anywhere in the country, but he chose to live in eternal football mediocrity at UNC. (Yeah, I know he wanted to play basketball, too, but he could have picked somewhere that was better than average in both sports).

I'll bet Pryor starts at least one game by the end of the 2012 season. It wouldn't surprise me if he starts one this season.

That's more a reflection of the three QBs on Oakland's roster right now than anything else, but I am surprised that so many people think this was such a huge reach.

Is it any more of a reach than taking Christian Ponder with the No. 12 pick? Is it any more of a reach than taking Tebow in the first round?

    It's a third-round pick, if he's a bust, little harm was done...

    Wrong.

Curry accounted for 11,500 yards in high school, including 8,200 yards passing. Pryor finished with 8,500 total yards (passing and rushing).
Curry was responsible for 185 TDs in his HS career. Pryor? 119.

Curry "was never even close to being as talented" as Pryor? Try again.

You're citing high school stats to make a comparison of someone who was just drafted to play in the NFL? Are you high or just stupid?

Pryor and Curry were both unreal in HS. And both were mediocre at best in college. Pryor won more games, but it wasn't because he was an All American. There's a good chance Pryor will end up with a mediocre NFL career, just like Curry.

To say Curry wasn't even close to being as talented as Pryor is stupid.

Very little. There's no way he should have been a first round draft pick even if he played this season.

  10. I don't see how anyone can think Pryor was medicore in college. Because he wasn't an elite thrower?

You measure by wins and losses. And Pryor was 31-4 as the starter for OSU, without elite receivers, without elite running backs and he had games where he carried his team to a win, the 2009 rose bowl comes to mind.

Whether he becomes a good pro or not remains to be seen. Personally, I would take a flyer on him because he's 6-6 with elite athleticism. But to say that he was mediocre in college? Nah, he was a lot better than that

How many times was Pryor a first or second team all conference pick?

Prior was mediocre. Yes he was 31 - 4 but Ohio State is always 31-4, with Prior or not.

I would have liked to see what Prior could have done in a offense like Auburn ran with Newton. I think he would have been equally as good.
