I'm sure we all know by my av who I'm rooting for. But it will be tough for me, since I really do enjoy watching Tech play football. Bottom line, I bet it's going to be a darn good game.

I read in the USA Today that all 22 starters are from Texas. Just kind of makes it a little sweeter I think, knowing that.

Shit, I love my hometown as much as anybody, but the hubris you Texans have is off the freakin chart.

Missouri can run well out of the spread too, tho it gets too gimmicky on its running plays at times

As for Tex-Tex Tech, I think Texas wins by a couple scores, but I don't have a good handle on it. If Tech somehow goes to the B-12 title game and Missouri does too (and you have to like the Tigers' chances), keep in mind that Mizzou shut down Harrell the previous two years.

Texas will have a lot of trouble slowing down Tech.

Tech will never slow down Texas.

Will Muschamp = Sasquatch-level BEAST. He'll come up with something that throws Tech off just enough at the right times. Texas, on the other hand, will do whatever it wants offensively.

Zone blitzes all around. That's the only way I see of screwing up the Tech offense. I'm watching the Techies carve up Kansas on an ESPN replay right now and it looks like a flag football game.
Found an old Michael Lewis NYT article on Leach: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/04/magazine/04coach.html?pagewanted=all

Why another program hasn't snapped Leach up yet is beyond me.

Correct, Dan, and Muschamp is the master of the blitz. I know the '03 season he had between 90 and 100 separate blitz packages for the LSU defense.

It's been proven that the best way to attack the Tech offense is get pressure on the quarterback, even if it means gambling a few times in man-to-man. After all, Crabtree's gonna get his no matter what. Oklahoma wrote the book on stopping Tech until last year. Just blitz Harrell within an inch of his life and bump-and-run.

I met Leach and Ron Prince last year. They came out to the JUCO here to do some recruiting.

Here's Prince, wearing tailor-made slacks, K-State leather trench coat, dressed to the nines.

Here's Leach, wearing faded blue-jeans, wearing a Under Armour pull-over, spitting dip into a Kwik Shop Coffee cup.

Me and Leach got to talking for a bit, and I told him that one of the local high school coaches around here runs the spread similar to his....Leach gives me his card, and says that if any of the schools want to come down to any of his camps, to just give him a call.

    Very interesting guy.

Leach doesn't have a power towel.

Even if he did, he wouldn't bring it to every game.

Regardless, Leach is a breath of fresh air. And there aren't too many of those guys left any more.

Leach is great. He is the antidote for the Charlie Weis's of college football.
