A certain podcast went on about this last week and predicted Next Gen wouldn’t be run full-time in 2022.

NASCAR and F1 are both going to be kit car next year.
The closest top-flight thing to racing something that resembles a street car are NHRA Pro Stock and IMSA.

Unleaded gas ... fuel injection ... all those things that got invented but NASCAR ignored for years.

I recall that Bob Newton was screaming that the Cup Series could never use radials because it would be too dangerous … and when he brought Hoosier back to Cup with radials for his second go-round in NASCAR he and Hoosier proved it.

Just like the way NASCAR treated Bill Simpson following Dale Earnhardt's crash, Hoosier got the brunt of the blame for the Bonnett and Rodney Orr crashes. Except ...

And of course, NASCAR stonewalled any investigation.

On the surface, one would think NASCAR would want the crashes investigated fully because I don't see how either could be pinned on the series. If it was a broken bolt, that would be on the teams and parts manufacturers, not NASCAR's fault.
But I'll bet folding money there were a meeting in a smoke-filled room late one night, possibly at the dog track, with some Goodyear execs and a guy named France, and by the end it was Hoosier's fault.

I'm guessing a big check from Akron greased Mr. France's palms as well.
