An unknown named Zach Remillard made his Major League debut for the White Sox today, coming in for Tim Anderson when he was hurt in the fifth inning in Seattle.

Remillard walks in his first AB, gets a bunt single his next time up. Gets a two-out RBI single to tie the game in the ninth.

Sure enough, still tied at 3 in the top of the 11th, Remillard comes up with another two-out RBI single.

Career so far: 3-for-3, 2 RBI, 1.000 batting average.

It’s all downhill from here, kid!

That's a horrendous loss. Take three of four in Texas. Win Friday. Cruising against a crap team then to choke it up. Unbelievable.

I know we're just dredging up the debate from last year but he's not going to win it every year. That's not how it works. That's not how it ever works.

A guy had an amazing record-setting offensive season and was the MVP for a lineup that is absolutely atrocious without him.

Ohtani's gonna win this year because he's on pace to lead the league in homers and RBI in addition to the pitching (McClanahan's gonna be the Cy Young).
Judge missing all this time is going to take him out of the race (plus he already won it last year), the only other threats right now are Franco and Semien and they ain't going to give it to a second baseman unless he has a crazy good year.

The last back-to-back winner in the AL was Miggy in 2012-13 (and we don't need to bring up that whole Trout debate) and then it's the Big Hurt in 1993-94, which includes a strike year so who knows how that would have really turned out. Before that it's Maris in 1960-61.

In the NL the last one was Pujols in 2008-09. Bonds is probably the big exception -- before him it was Murphy in 82-83.

You are talking four decades with six cases and two of them probably shouldn't have occurred.

The lesson to be taken from this is that you never, never award first pitches to family members.

Shouldn't this be a standing head? It's more newsworthy when the headline is Angels Place Anthony Rendon on the Active List.
I realize this injury came when he was HBP, but man, he injured a lot. He's played 195 games in 3 and almost a half seasons since signing for $38 million per year.

I really liked Anthony Rendon, Nationals third baseman, and I was sad when the team let him go. ... Shocked that it's worked out like this.

Arraez is 5-for-5 -- again -- in the eighth inning tonight.

He became the fourth player since 1900 to have three 5-hit games in a month. The others: George Sisler, Ty Cobb, and Dave Winfield.

he’ll be one of those Hall of Famers but the injuries guys. He had five really good seasons as a third baseman, won a title and just can’t stay on the field
