NASCAR announced its 2025 schedule. Besides Bowman-Gray for the Clash, they'll also go to Mexico City for a points race in June.
Other notable changes to the Cup schedule include:
    • St. Louis and New Hampshire are playoff races. Homestead and Watkins Glen are not. Homestead moves to March, and Watkins Glen to its old date in August.
    • The order of a number of early-season races is shuffled. Darlington is moved up and Bristol is pushed back a month each.
    • The All-Star race is at North Wilkesboro
    • Daytona is the last regular-season race and the playoffs start at Darlington

Also, this was mentioned in that story as a throwaway and I'm not sure I'd seen it anywhere yet. NASCAR is doing some sort of in-season tournament to tie in with the switch to coverage on Prime and TNT in the summer. Looks like it's only for $1 million in prize money and doesn't affect the season standings in any way.
The tournament starts with the Coca-Cola 600 and runs through the Brickyard 400 at the end of July.

The tournament is ripped off from Denny Hamlin's podcast. I hope they gave him something for it.

Given that lower-end Cup drivers aren't cracking $1m a year nowadays, it might carry more weight than you think.

Instead of Winston Cup, it's the FA Cup.

They're keeping the Chicago Street Race on July 4 weekend. I've liked it both years.

They should run Daytona at 11 a.m. July 4.

Not the Saturday or Sunday nearest to July 4. Actual Independence Day. They could call it ... oh, I dunno. How does the "Firecracker 400" sound?

The McLarens have been the better car for a little while now. Even Mercedes has significantly closed the gap. About damn time the other teams figured out some of what Red Bull knew from the beginning of the latest design regs.

Would love to see the papayas knock Max and Co. off the top step at the end of the season.

Man, that Southern 500 last 18 laps was great. What a move by Briscoe before the last caution to get the lead, and then to hold off Kyle Busch on fresh tires to win. That was really fun.

Also, helluva last 20 laps for Jeff Burton as a broadcaster. Nailed everything. Said Briscoe needed to stay high on the wall, to risk giving Busch the clean air. Burton was really, really good.
