I'm not trying to be a wise ass but -- exactly how many legitimate media outlets actually cover the league on a regular basis and how many traveling beat reporters are there league-wide? Do any of the reporters travel with this league on a full-time basis other than for the playoffs?

I'd agree, but I'm blinded by my love of the Fever and my undying hatred of Diana Taurasi.

There's one traveling beat writer - Jayda Evans in Seattle.

Really? The Sparks and Liberty don't have full-time beat reporters covering them?

Catchings tried to carry Indiana tonight, but Katie Douglas couldn't hit a shot and the rest of the team looked like they didn't want it late -- *everybody* was passing up open shots in the 4th quarter when Phoenix pulled away. Catchings was incredible, but Cappie Pondexter was lights-out in the first half. The one matchup advantage Indiana had -- Hoffman down low -- they never used. Instead, Hoffman spent the entire second half on the perimeter. Phoenix used its matchup advantages (putting Tangela Smith on the perimeter and making a post guard her deep and chuck the 3 when they didn't).

The Liberty beat for the Post and DN is a mish-mash of who is available, and I speak from experience as a former intern who was part of that mish-mash.

Pondexter's 24 and Finals/League MVP Taurasi's 19 enough to seal the win for Phoenix, which wins its second title in three seasons.

Glad my car is in the garage. It will be safe from the inevitable celebratory rioting.

One wonders what Leon Smith was thinking or doing as Cappie Pondexter was lighting up the Fever.

Catchings had an amazing series. For total basketball skills (defense, rebounding, assists, offense), is anyone close to her?

She made a play in game 3 or 4 that revealed her athleticism. It was an offensive rebound of sorts, although she couldn't control it given how close to the baseline she was and how high in the air she was. So she tipped it back out to a teammate, and made it look so easy in the process. Stunning athlete using her athleticism to impress one and all. Quite the all-around player

And she actually shot pretty well in the finals, too, long her Achilles heel.
