The fruit basket challenge seemed like one that went on forever.

I was confused by this week’s episode. Last week there was no elimination and Phil said the leg continued, and everyone moaned. But this week’s episode started at 8:30 a.m. So I guess they had a night’s sleep in the middle of the leg? Seems like it made last week a non-elim one after all.

I'm not a fan of these 90 minutes episodes. It drags in the middle with the repetitious filler of watching EVERY team fail at EVERY certain challenge parts.

I agree, tea and ease - 90 minutes is too long. The episodes are dragging at points.

I get the "why" of 90 minutes. With the now-settled writers' strike, extending "Survivor" and "TAR" accounts for a full evening of programming. But, it's not working.

Also, I've been watching "TAR" online because 9:30-11 p.m. Eastern is too late for me.

In watching it today, there was a commercial with a UFC guy saying that his "balls" were uncomfortable. Really...

Did this commercial air during prime time? If it did, wow - and not in a good way.

I'm sweating just watching this episode.

I knew a strong team would get shafted by the needle in a haystack challenge. Sorry, bumpy.

Teams that I'm so far very impressed by:
    Steve & Anna Leigh
    Rob & Corey
    Malaina & Andrea

I think the teams most likely to pull a surprise at this point are Greg & John and Joel & Garrett (although my team may do something to be better than middling at some point...)

It'll be interesting to see on the next episode who gets u-turned. I'm guessing it'll either be Steve and Anna Leigh because they're such a good team or Robbin and Chelsea because they've shunned other teams.

And, good news - that UFC ad wasn't on the CBS.com feed this time. :)

I like all the teams, but having a hard time not scrolling my phone during episodes. Too many tedious tasks. We need some physical ones, like climbing or rappelling.

This past episode lagged less than the others but still got a little tedious with the head balance challenge.
I think the issue is that when they filmed the season they planned for 60 minute shows but in post had to add the extra 30.
I wish they could have used the ancient stairs as part of a challenge.

That’s actually not true. When producers learned there would be 90-minute episodes , they filmed a season for that. This is actually season 36, but it was flipped with 35 because it would be easier to film a new season than re-edit the one already in the can.
Why Amazing Race 35 switched with TAR 36, plus its teams and twists

It's going to be awkward as hell if they've gone back to commercial airfare for the currently airing season, but then revert back to the charter for whenever the next season airs.

Agreed. I completely thought that was going to be part of a challenge.

I've been watching the episodes on Paramount+, so they're 1 hour 3 minutes sans ads, but I couldn't figure out why they did seem a bit stretched.
