I was afraid it was going to be a non-elimination leg when they sent John back out to find the correct surfboard. Since they were last anyhow, why not just end the task there?

And I wonder if John and Jessica are still dating. She didn't seem to pleased when he blew off their failure and said he didn't need $1 million.

I never got a romantic vibe from them at all. They seemed more like brother-sister than boyfriend-girlfriend.

And of course he doesn't need $1M, as an Anthony Michael Hall impersonator I'm sure he's making zillions.

Worse mistake, getting eliminated without using the Express Pass or getting eliminated because you stopped to pee before checking in at the mat?

Unless they took a penalty and were forced to wait it out, or they skipped a step and had to go back and complete a task.

Turns out they quit. Interesting timing that they went to Vietnam and didn't quit in Bali. I'm curious....they usually make the people who are eliminated go to a resort for the remainder of the race duration (so that way there's no big indication of who wins) so I'm wondering if Dave got to go back to the states to have surgery with a doctor in his area, rather than having to wait it out at the resort. There have been injuries on the Race before, but nothing of this severity to my recollection.

The Communism song and dance made me laugh so hard. Also, seeing the B-52 bomber crash site was really cool.

Has a team ever quit due to injury like that before? I thought it was odd.

Of course, I thought the B-52 Memorial was odd too. "Here, America, is a monument to us shooting down a bomber in a controversial war."

A few seasons ago, they made the contestants visit Hiroshima.

The only other team to quit because of injury was Lance/Marshall in season 5. They were in last, one of them had injured his knee and they basically requested from the producer that was with them to send Phil out so they could quit. I believe it's the only time that Phil has come out on the race court to eliminate a team.
