It would just go so well with my love of travel, and my desire to, to put it succinctly and accurately, see the world, which I bring up often, to both myself, and others.

It's an itch I usually scratch with cruising, but "The Amazing Race" is even better than that in some ways because it actually involves you/forces you to become involved in the cultural things in an area. The down side is that sometimes I think the teams don't really take things in, just because they're racing. But everything in the race and with the challenges has a reason behind it, and it still makes you do things, rather than just simple sight-seeing/souvenir shopping. So, potentially, you can take away even more from a place.

I think that would be the hardest thing of doing TAR for me, is wanting to stick around after finishing a challenge and just take it all in. I think a team that did this very well and always took the extra time to experience the culture was the Globetrotters.

"Gary, you so owe me. This lipstick is NOT my color."

You would think with the constant horn honking that other teams would have gone "hrm... did we do something with the horn?"

Sorry bumpy :( The Asian parents are killing it. I was also surprised by the number of teams that seemed fairly fluent in Spanish and weren't just yelling RAPIDO RAPIDO at their taxi driver.

    The teams:
    TigerVols - Hung | Chee - 41
    WolvEagle - Riley | Maddison - 17
    Iron_Chet - Michelle | Victoria - 16
    Huggy - Will | James - 13
    Inky_Wretch - Aparna | Eswar - 12
    MTM - Gary | DeAngelo - 11
    Wenders - Alana | Leo - 10
    WriteThinking - Jerry | Frank - 9
    nietsroob17 - Kaylynn | Haley - 7
    *bumpy mcgee - Kellie | LaVonne - 4
    *Nathan | Cody - 1

Obligatory 'Read your clue!' yell. Glad to set what could be a record for worst performance in board history for the Amazing Race league.

It’s been like this for awhile now, but the competition is no longer a multi legged race, but a series of heats. The goal should be if you can’t be first just don’t be last.

OK, everyone: all together now, "READ THE CLUE!"

That's exactly what I was thinking, too!:(

I was actually pretty impressed with everyone's tightrope-walking skills, though.:)

I was too - until I noticed the "umbrella" they were holding was a safety cord attached to line above their heads. Just use it to maintain your balance and don't miss the rope when you step.

I saw that, right away. And they had harnesses on, too, if I saw the backs of a couple of them right. But still, I was surprised nobody seemed to miss a step, as you said, and that somebody didn't fall off, or do more than drop the bottle as Alana did, and have to do it over again. Unless, they did, and that was just edited out. But I'm guessing they probably would've shown at least one person doing that if it had happened...

Yeah, they had on harnesses. Alana's first bottle drop was actually caused by the safety line attached to her harness coming around and hitting her tray. It seemed like the belayer was at fault there, not her.

I saw in my local TV listings that TAR is airing at 8 p.m. Eastern this week. Glad I looked - I would have been pretty ticked off if I would have tuned in at 9.

For any other Canuckstanis on this thread, CTV is showing it at 7 p.m. Wednesday (in the Toronto area, anyway).

Ok everyone, this week we do it in four-part harmony. (I'll take the soprano line, everyone fall in line)
    REEEEEEEAD THE CLUUUUUUUUUUUE

(That is, if you can find it, Michelle and Victoria.)

Sad to see Jerry and Frank go, but being the only team that had to go all the way back for their stuff on the beach doomed them. The cultures of the Amazon looked really cool. I would have done the cooking challenge, 100%. It was out of the sun and way less fiddly than the palm fronds.

I'm still impressed by the language knowledge of this season's racers.

    Pool update:
    TigerVols - Hung | Chee - 49
    Huggy - Will | James - 32
    WolvEagle - Riley | Maddison - 23
    Iron_Chet - Michelle | Victoria - 19
    Inky_Wretch - Aparna | Eswar - 16
    MTM - Gary | DeAngelo - 16
    nietsroob17 - Kaylynn | Haley - 14
    Wenders - Alana | Leo - 12
    *WriteThinking - Jerry | Frank - 10
    *bumpy mcgee - Kellie | LaVonne - 4
    *Nathan | Cody - 1
